There's some finance elements to it obviously, and some age issues.
So atm you wouldn't renew Andersen, Fox or Colback (hopefully that third year option is on our side not his), Cook really depends atm you would, Frey needs a good second half of the season. Dunne I'd walk over coals to keep. Kolli seems to depend on money, Paal they seem to have taken against.
What is worth bearing in mind though is that's potentially half your team going out of the door again. A lot of experience too. Are we going to let that happen and bring another ten analytics lads from Europe in again? This amount of churn and turnover every summer isn't good, and signings of the profile of this summer would stand a much better chance of success if there were five of them coming into a settled side not ten of them and complete transformation.
So if you're undecided on somebody like Dunne, I think the value of continuity and a good, solid squad member over yet more change and churn in a key position elevates him further.

And 'proper centre forwards'. You have Kane and Lewandowski types getting big moves and money late into their careers because that sort of forward is increasingly rare.
I spoke to Les about this a lot when he was at QPR and he said basically every kid in every academy now wants to play "ten". They don't want to get in the box and get on the end of stuff and sniff out chances, and they don't want to be bombing down the line crossing the ball. They all want to be 'ten' because that's where the 'ballers' play. |

Spent the whole summer telling Paal he wasn't wanted.
Tried to shovel Paal to Watford.
Go into the season with Paal as your only left back option.
Sow, and reap.
Ashby looks fcking terrible to me. Worst kind of sleeve-tattooed academy footballer. Gives the ball away for fun.
But it's very QPR to turn the fire on a 23-year-old loaned right back, now playing left back, rather than asking how on earth we've recruited and retained our way into this position. |

Yes, a lot of faux 'woe is me' reactions to it, but nobody truly believed we were in any bother. I wanted to use it for that little funny line at the end. I won't make that mistake again

That's it isn't it? Three game week, loads of injuries, bottom of the league, I'm not as bothered about the aesthetics at this point. |
