I think the problem apart from a slightly dodgy defence, same in the 1960’s, is the lack of goals in the team. Has been the biggest problem for several years.
We have wingers and midfielders who offer little threat in terms of goals. Plus no defenders who score from set plays. Further we create loads of chances, enough to have beaten Liverpool and spurs by a good margin. We lack any kind of clinical edge or composure. What I have seen of shooting practice is kicking in from the edge of the area or dummies blocking the goal. Surely one should create realistic defence set ups for players to produce under real pressure .... oh oh back to not enough good defenders. |
