at 22:09 23 Feb 2017

One for the older end on here I`m afraid. Has anybody heard of or seen Nigel Parker recently? He is/was a daily visitor to Tesco,Rochdale but hasnt been seen for the last three weeks and it is known that his health hasnt been great recently although to be fair his health hasnt been good for the last few years. Lifelong dale fan when he can attend games sits in the main stand. Those concerned about his absence would appreciate any news.

RIP Kevin Jenkinson
at 19:45 14 Apr 2014

It is with deep regret that I notify this forum of the death of Kevin Jenkinson. Kevin will be known mainly I guess to the older members of this forum. Due to health problems he has not been able to attend Dale for a number of years. Those who stand in the Sandy Lane probably may know his wife Bernice and son Carl who can be found at home games stood at the Sandy Lane near to the main stand corner flag. I worked closely with Kevin on the old Supporters Club Committee where he arranged some truly superb Christmas Dinners for us. Kevin was also head gateman on the Wilbutts Lane side until his health dictated otherwise. The family until the last few years were regular home and away fans never missing a game. Kevin you will be greatly missed and I have many fond memories of the times we had together. My deepest sympathies go to Bernice and Carl.

I had not realised until Saturday when in conversation somebody mentioned Easter and how that was fast approaching that there had been no mention of a curry/chinese night. This traditionally is held on the Thursday prior to Good Friday. Why isn`t their such an event this year is anybody able to respond ?

Who`s going to York ?
at 09:43 10 Mar 2013

To be honest prior to kick off me and my mates had discussed York and wether we were going or not. The unanimous decision was no we were not. A couple of hours or so later following a great win and whats more a wholly deserved win (by a team who created a bucket load of chances) and that decision was reversed. Has anybody else reversed their decision to go on Tuesday night.

Before anybody suggests it - no alcohol didn`t play a part.

Help required re goalscorer ............................................
at 20:09 6 Feb 2013

Can anyone give me a definitive answer to the following:-
On 6th January 1998 we played Carlisle United away in the Auto Windscreen Shield those who were there will remember it well. I was their but cannot recall the answer to my question. We lost that night 6-1. Who scored our goal ? Some publications give it as an own goal, others credit the goal to Mark Stuart. Can anyone give me a 100% answer. If it was an own goal then who was the scorer.
Many thanks in anticipation.

Scott McLachlan-Walk the 92 at Rochdale
at 22:39 16 Nov 2012

Scott McLachlan lifelong Portsmouth supporter and a director on the Portsmouth Supporters Trust (who are currently looking to own the club) is currently walking to all the 92 Football League Clubs. He started his journey in August and looks to complete it in April next year. He is raising money for both Prostate Cancer (which is the Football Leagues charity of the year) and Breast Cancer. My wife and I had the pleasure of accomodating Scott on Wednesday and Thursday night whilst he completed the legs from Oldham to Rochdale to Bury. He is now currently in Bolton. Our Supporters Trust kindly donated £50 to his cause and I had the pleasure of handing the cheque over to him at Spotland on their behalf. I am appealing to our Supporters to make a donation, however small, to his cause.

Rochdale fan in peace
at 21:36 16 Nov 2012

Hello Pompey fans Rochdale fan here. I`m just writing to say that on Wednesday and Thursday of this week my wife and I played host to Scott McLachlan, Pompey fan currently walking around the 92 football league clubs. It was a total pleasure to have him stay with us and I greatly admire what he is doing. I just hope to get around the 92 in my lifetime. I would like to let you know, if you don`t already, that he is in the North West and doing well. He was at Oldham Athletic on Wednesday, Rochdale on Thursday and Bury this morning before moving on into Bolton and being at the Reebok Stadium for Saturday morning. I learnt a lot about your club and the efforts of the Trust in its takeover bid. I wish the Trust board members all the best in their bid to takeover the club and hope it goes well. To you Pompey fans all the best for the remainder of the season and if none of you have yet contributed to Scotts cause in raising money for Prostate/Breast Cancer then urge you to do so through the Just Giving website/Walkthe92.
