Gus Poyet sacked on 20:12 - Jun 23 with 8366 views | Northernr | A month ago I'd have gone down to Brighton and driven him here myself. Events of the last few weeks mean I'm now not so sure.
Gus Poyet sacked on 20:15 - Jun 23 with 8349 views | Neil_SI | I'm out of the loop with this, what's he actually allegedly done that's caused all this bother and gotten him the sack? Is it anything to do with the excrement incident, or just because he perhaps wanted to talk to other clubs that were interested in him?

A bit of both and plenty of other stuff as well. Brighton seem to have put together a charge sheet a mile long. May just be a technique to get him sacked without paying compo of course, but if he was that good why would they want to do that?
Gus Poyet sacked on 20:30 - Jun 23 with 8265 views | WeaverQPR | Expect to see the HR to Brighton rumour to start up again.

Gus Poyet sacked on 20:33 - Jun 23 with 8237 views | RANGERS4EVER | I would think Warnock but he doesnt really suit them

Gus Poyet sacked on 20:50 - Jun 23 with 8141 views | Northernr | bizarrely they've rung him and told him this while he's in the BBC studio for the Nigeria Spain game. About to talk about it during half time... will appeal. [Post edited 1 Jan 1970 1:00]

Gus Poyet sacked on 20:53 - Jun 23 with 8109 views | Toast_R | He logged out conger sized paint peeler in the changing rooms I read last week. I can't imagine that being the only offence. If they had won the playoffs he'd still be manager one would imagine.

Massive awkard fest. Surely they knew he was in the studio!?

Gus Poyet sacked on 21:06 - Jun 23 with 8055 views | Northernr | Well according to Poyet the first he knew was when Mark Chapman handed him the statement during the first half, didn't get a phone call or anything. Seems like a total breakdown in relations there. Wonder what on earth has gone on?

Is he that good, promotion from league One and a playoff exit at home. 5 year contract , cant afford the compo
Gus Poyet sacked on 21:31 - Jun 23 with 7950 views | daveB | i'd still have him here like a shot, Brighton have acted terribly over this, would love to know what he's supposed to have done
Gus Poyet sacked on 21:33 - Jun 23 with 7942 views | DesertBoot | What a bitter end to their season. HR will go there now I'm certain of it.

Eh?? How can you say Brighton have acted terribly then admit you don't know what he has done??
Gus Poyet sacked on 22:28 - Jun 23 with 7737 views | QPR1882 | Getting back to the original post, yes I would still have him. Yet again I would rather have Paul Hart or Alan Mullery then Rednapp.

Gus Poyet sacked on 23:22 - Jun 23 with 7591 views | qpr85 | I'm not sure what the true nature of his offence is, (pardon the pun) but I heard it was his assistant that did the business in the dressing room. Also he looked shocked and disgusted whilst speaking to olly at the beginning of the game. If it's a possibility of HR leaving then I would have him. Brighton played good Football and he is passionate, I also can't recall him blaming everyone but himself every time Brighton lost
Gus Poyet sacked on 01:14 - Jun 24 with 7496 views | rsonist | Poyet's assistant is note Ranger Charlie Oatway of course. From what I've read the suspension was supposedly down to repeated public criticism of the board regarding budget and the club's ambition. Vicente (on his way out) was also saying something about Poyet being abusive towards the players but I don't know if that has any relevance. If a parting of ways was on the cards anyway it's conceivable Brighton would try and emphasise whatever they can find on Poyet to make breach of contract plausible and not have to pay up the remainder of his contract. There's certainly a few alarm bells that ring with Poyet (not just personal but regarding his management of Brighton too) but for some reason I can't help but feel he's our kind of guy - a bit of a vain nutter in the mould of Warnock and Holloway. If Redknapp did leave I think Poyet would be head and shoulders above any other candidate to replace him.
