Is this the end? 10:11 - Feb 26 with 4384 viewsSomersetHoops

I've been supporting QPR for many years and for most of them would get in early and buy a ticket to stand in the Loft. Yesterday a group of people were sitting in the loft wearing Fulham shirts and jackets. They should have been immediately ejected from the ground as this area is and always has been for QPR supporters only, but they were allowed to sit in their Fulham kit for over half an hour without challenge.

Eventually they were moved a couple of rows down and asked to cover their Fulham kit and regalia. I find this unacceptable and I don't quite know how they managed to get into that part of the ground unless they concealed their support for the opposition. I spoke to the stewards in my area while they were sitting in their kit and was told they were dealing with it, but I made it clear the only way to deal with it was to insist they leave.

I have recently been to the Liverpool game at Anfield as a guest of a Liverpool supporting friend in the Liverpool supporting area, but would not under any circumstances have gone there in my QPR kit or overtly shown anything that would have upset the Liverpool supporters as respect for them. It make me review what I am supporting at QPR if the management of the club allow opposition supporters to openly wear their kit in the home supporters area. In my view this devalues QPR as a club and brand and if the management are not prepared to support that why should anyone?

It certainly would not be support of the quality of football on the pitch - our players looked less like a team than I have ever seen in the first 30 minutes. So much for their bonding holiday camp in Portugal. It would not be for the quality of management - Diakite should have been taken off after his first yellow card. He also should have been told tackling knee high with studs up would surely deserve another if not a straight red resulting for the second time in two league games under this manager with ten menfor most of the game. Diakite as a replacement for Ale Faurlin is a sick joke. It would not be for having an organised defence as the opposition were able to waltze through our defence several times in the first twenty minutes as if they weren't there. It would not be for the quality of the players brought in as Zamora must think he's still a Fulham player, passing the ball to his old team-mates at least twice in the first 20 minutes and taking shots that looked more like pass-backs to their goalkeeper. I don't need to remind people about the other main signings who got sent of in their first appearance. I thought Hughes knew what he was doing, but I'm already beginning to wonder whether he has the guts for a fight and certainly whether he can instill discipline and leadership into the players.

I feel sorry for Tony Fernandes as I'm sure he's trying his best, but I left this game after 35 minutes in protest about the first issue I mentioned and because I couldn't bear to watch such a crap performance any longer after that. It took me 4 hours to get to the ground and this is the first time ever that I have left a QPR game before it has finished and I'm not sure that I can be bothered to ever come back.

so QPR invited some kids with Down Syndrome to watch the game with their family in the family stand in seats we hadn't sold and some morons were screaming kick them out as some were Fulham fans. For anyone on here to be blaming the club for this is incredible, some of our fans are brain dead.

I was one of many who spoke up in support of Dave Thomas.

In this case it was not about who or what they were I have nothing against them and believe fans from other clubs should respect each other. It was just just the fact that they were wearing their Fulham kit in an area reserved for QPR fans.

It seems this has been organised and considered acceptable by those running the club, although I didn't know that at the time, they have the right to do what they like, so I made it clear to the stewards that I didn't think it was right. I've said before even if nobody else cares about it I do. It seems I'm in the minority and most fans don't seem to care about it so I'll drop it now.

what is there to care about? A couple of kids with downs syndrome watched the game in the QPR end, it was alright for QPR fans to watch the Watford game in the Watford end last season so why was this an issue. It's not as if they were giving it large to you, just sitting there watching a game of football with a different coloured shirt on. It's pathetic that you even felt the need to contact a steward about this, you should be ashamed iof yourself.

Yes, if I saw some fulham lads in the loft I would expect them to be removed sharpish. But a couple of people with downs syndrome wearing fulham gear and you leave after 35 mins? You need your head tested.

I've read a few Spike Milligan books in my time but reading this thread and some of the nonsense, utter bloody nonsense that's been written on It beats the hell out of anything that Spike could have written.

You have to read through It, It's ridiculous.

OK it seems I'm wrong - the lower Loft is not a QPR only area now so anyone can sit there in whatever kit and supporting whoever they want. When it was standing this was not the case. I knew it was the family area, but I thought it was reserved for QPR supporting families.

I still think its a shame that this area so obviously at the home end is not reserved for home supporters, but I now realise its not. Those sitting there in Fulham kit were not just kids or I would not have mentioned it at all. I know there have been groups of kids there before supporting various clubs and I have never had a problem with that.

Anyway it was the performance on the pitch that led me to leave and seeing another of our players deservedly getting sent off meaning again we had no chance of getting anything from the game was the main reason I couldn't bear to watch any more.

Reading Clive's report I don't think I missed anything worth watching after I left.

If they were parents and helpers with a Downs Syndrome team that's exactly what you should have done FFS. My God we're in danger of reaching a new low on this thread now. Easy mistake to make initially, understandably pissed off to start with, but now the real reason for them being there has come out I think it's time for "sorry, my mistake, move on."

Thats entirely different I was given the impression these were fans come in to take the pee.
This is entirely different.

I guess every body thinks I've done this thread to its boring death, but I have to admit after reviewing everything said on here I was wrong on both counts (not about the team performance though). What annoyed me was that I saw two or three adults with Fulham gear on in the lower Loft one was lad of about 22 I would think. There were children there as well, but I did not know they were helpers for the downs syndrome kids, something I am pleased the club supports. If I had I would not have been annoyed by it or mentioned it to the stewards. It might have been better if the stewards were better informed of the situation so they could have told people the reason for it. I was not the only person who thought it wrong at the time and complained to them about it.

As well as that as I've now realised the lower loft is a family area open to anybody so even if they had been an ordinary Fulham family they were entitled to be there so I guess I just have to get used to it. I'm not sorry I left as it gave me more time to see my dear old mum and dad and I would not have been any happier if I'd stayed to the end.

No, FDC. This is all very, very important. QPR let me in the other day and I wasn't even wearing a QPR shirt. How do they know I'm not a Boca Juniors ultra here to stab up good, honest QPR fans. I'm writing to my MP (or failing that the lead singer of Echo and The Bunnymen).
