Dembele, Chair, JCS all “weeks away” on 18:39 - Nov 7 by FDC | Another patchwork team against leeds, with certain players well on their way to becoming hate figures selected by default. Easy to see things getting pretty toxic. You have to feel sorry for Morgan, a player with some promise but who is again going to be starting games by default in extremely challenging circumstances. Not ideal for his development at all. |
it's a great opportunity for him though, sure he'd rather be playing in the first team than in the kids teams

Dembele, Chair, JCS all “weeks away” on 18:18 - Nov 7 by stainrods_elbow | What an absolute clusterf*ck, compounded by the pathetically vague (non-)updates from Marti and our paranoiac publicity machine to us lowly fans about these injuries that go, in Dembele's case for example, to 'feeling something' in his leg pre-Burnley to, apparently, suffering serious bodily damage. T|hey seriously must think we're a bunch of utter retards. I suspect that's Chair pretty much done for the season, and we might well be too. Meanwhile, spreading even more happiness as I go, I feel exactly the same as another poster, who recently distinguished between 'following' the club and attending games. I administer my support from across the Irish Sea these days, but even if I were living on the White City estate right now, I'm not sure I would pay to see them live. The club doesn't deserve me or its demented/admirable/pitiable loyalists. That's the first time I've felt that way in nearly 50 years as a supporter. For some reason, even under Briatore and Ecclestone, I didn't feel this hacked off. Guess the 'feel-bad' factor is really setting in. [Post edited 7 Nov 18:20]

You're a long way away so fair enough, but supporting my team is not reliant upon them playing well, or being well run, it is unconditional, it is for life. If QPR were playing behind a rope in a league named after a local bookmakers I would be there. The idea that you won't go because we are rubbish makes you a fairweather fan, I'm sorry but that is the reality. I won't be at Leeds because I can't and I really wish I could, but every home game and as many away as I can make win lose or draw. That's what a supporter does.
Dembele, Chair, JCS all “weeks away” on 20:18 - Nov 7 with 2561 views | JimmyR | Calf problem. I had a grade 3 tear of my calf playing football a while back, my Mrs is a physio. Next up from that is a rupture, basically the muscle is torn off the bone. It was very painful, thought we had a sniper in, felt like someone stamped on me but there was no anywhere near me. Basically one down from the worst ‘calf problem’ you can have, except for someone blowing your fecking leg off I suppose. I was fine after 3/4 weeks, didn’t even see anyone about it. Had to hop about for a week. Not a pro athlete, in reasonably good shape ect, I do have pretty strong calf’s from skipping/boxing. I’m 40. Never had another calf issue since, I do warm them up before running/skipping, always have done else I get shin splints If I can maintain that level of calf health/fitness part time, without trying, and with zero professional assistance something is up Maybe I’ll start a go fund me and we can all chip in and get each of the lads a skipping rope? Everyone has to do 20 mins of skipping every day with 10 push ups every 3 mins, NO REST! | | | | Login to get fewer ads

They could declare at one and still get three points. Think they may remember that match at LR that seems a lifetime ago now - so they could fill their boots.

Agree, we need to at least let the opposition know we are going to run about a bit and put a tackle in. That’s about the best we can hope for at the moment, as I doubt our current list of crocks will be “breaking a leg” to rejoin this seasons newly unfolding shitshow. IMO, there is no hope of escaping the inevitable fate of relegation this season. We have gambled in the summer and totally misjudged what was needed with our recruitment and judging by the exasperated look on Marti’s face last night…..he knows it too.
Dembele, Chair, JCS all “weeks away” on 20:40 - Nov 7 with 2446 views | HammersmithR | It’s not rocket Science what you need to have to do well in this league. Warnock had the right balance. Proper pros who knew this league with the magic of Tarabat. We signed a whole group of players who have never played in the Championship. Most of them came from mediocre leagues. Many of them were absolute tiny and physically not ready for this league. We have been found out and Nourry’s data signings have been an utter shambles. I cannot fathom how the board with all their wealth have given so much power to someone who looks like they’re on work experience at the club. It’s utter shambles. Andy Belk is a big part of the problem as well as we are stuck with so many of these players now. How are we going into games at this level with the current squad that we have? How do they honestly think we will get to 50 points? How have they allowed the Head of Fitness and Performance to work from abroad in Dubai given our current situation. It’s an utter embarrassment.

Being a fan IS for life, as you say - I'm stuck with QPR - but that doesn't mean I dont calibrate my direct involvement when I know I'm being shafted. Loving the club and thinking they can go f*ck themselves for a bit are not incompatible. [Post edited 8 Nov 9:27]

Clearly in proper pain for a good minute before hobbling off. I thought we were still waiting for the sub when I saw him back out there. Last few mins of the half he was hobbling towards the touchline but kept getting passed the ball. Shows Marti's level of desperation I think, but still shouldn't have happened. Respectfully, the occurrence of some of those injuries arising were reasonably foreseeable: Fox and JCS. So was Colback's propensity to miss games through suspensions and now injury. It was therefore vital that some more championship-savvy/experienced players were acquired in the summer to fill those inevitable voids. You then allow your back-up left-back/wing-back to go out on a season's loan to Dundee Also allow Kakay to leave, who when compared to Ashby and that waste of space Santos, is of a higher grade in both the number of games he has played at championship level and playing ability as an understudy. Before joining us, Ashby had barely played 10 games at this level and he's 22! In essence, we didn't need to sign inferior and/or inexperienced players like Santos or Ashby. Kakay had his faults but they were far fewer than the two we've subsequently signed, and he was hardly haemorrhaging the club with his salary. The only signings that appear to make sense are: Nardi - not his biggest fan, but understand it; Saito and Dembele. I haven't seen enough of Morrison yet. All the others aren't either good enough/or near ready for the championship. Contrast our dud signings to some of those made by Oxford and Millwall. Louie Sibley (free), Vaulks (free), Brannagan (not a signing per se, but should have been picked up by a championship side a long time ago). Langstaff (£750K), Azeez (free). Not all of them are regular starters, but some of those as alternatives to the dross that we have signed, would have significantly strengthened our bench. [Post edited 8 Nov 9:35]

Dembele, Chair, JCS all “weeks away” on 09:44 - Nov 8 with 1382 views | BklynRanger | Varane seems like a decent signing so far - overly relied on of course. And Morgan the same - he should be being bedded in rather than starting, but also decent. This season is so hard to keep track of in the many facets of its shitness - we go from no midfield options, to talking about whether Field gets back into that midfield, then back to getting rogered up the middle. Exhausting. My positive comment lasted all of 10 seconds...

I think Varane has potential but he needs to be braver and make himself more available to receiving the ball from the centre backs Positive is that at least he attempts to make a tackle unlike Madsen but the bar is very low at the moment and every single player needs to do the basics better
