Just as a matter of interest , Dozzell scored on trial for Sheffield United yesterday .

What an agent he has!

He's planned his next goal for 2028

Sounds like it was the usual five sitters to every goal though. Some of the comments on the Twitter thread are amusing.

Wonder if he spent about 10 minutes celebrating?

Pleased to hear it.

Not just because I like the kid, but also because of our 20% sell on.

I would not be surprised if he's sent out on loan by Bristol City until at least January.

Any chance of our getting Conway in return, he's the same age as Armstrong but offers so much more in my opinion and is in the final year of his contract. Wishful thinking, I know.

I am sorry, but you are wrong.
This would mean he got into positions to miss sitters; Dozy hardly ever did that.

Good luck to him. He shat his colon out giving a 100% every game.

Alas he's about as useful as a leather lace up condom in front of goal.

Probably go on to play for England .

This would be a completely different thread if we had paid 2.5-3.5 million for a player who has scored 3 goals in 61 games

Yep no regrets.

Sinclair a fascinating player, genuinely want him to be a success and he might yet be. However, was a master stroke at this time to get the fee we did and crucially add a sell on.

He was not going to fit our style of play anyway so good luck to him and hope he finds his feet, literally, elsewhere.

Totally agree.

To do this business with a player who gives his all but doesn't score much and doesn't fit the style and reinvest it in a player who has a proven scoring record and hopefully will fit the style is exactly how we should be operating. Good luck to Sinclair but we move on.

Never knowingly right.

I like the work Nourry has put in already. I doubt very much that he has a different approach to Hoos - probably more a case that as a 26 or 27 y/o he has said to the owners ‘I’ve got 40 years of career ahead and if I’m here I don’t want you messing it up for me… so stay away, don’t take the wheel if you want me’… I imagine Hoos was more relaxed as he was winding down and would, I imagine, be less bullish.

…the real test as to how much control he has will come if/when we’re top six going into a January transfer window!

He’s made for uncompetitive football. Good luck to him securing a contract and barely getting a game once they realise.

Well, maybe, but it can‘t hurt his sell on value.

My post was more ‘this is great for us’ than ‘look what we’ve missed out on’.

As opposed to our strikers who couldn't score against Reading's youngsters in defence.
