Given the news we heard this week from Ruben that LR is now more likely to be redeveloped over a new stadium, I wanted to open up a specific thread for it.

Any ideas on how we can improve LR.

NOTE: Serious ideas only.

Can't people just sit cross-legged around the perimeter of the pitch like that time against West Ham in the cup?

Bare bones.

I'd rip out all seating in the SA and re-plant the seating with double the leg room and larger seats.

I'd then put safe standing across the whole of Ellerslie and lower tier at the School End.

Doubt that would affect capacity too much, but would mean less people in SAF, alleviating lots of issues, while having more standing and more atmos across the stadium. Me and Ruben are meeting about this next week as I have a degree in football stadium attendance.

Love the idea. At last some joined up thinking 😎

Other than it reducing capacity by 2k and those in the middle of Ellerslie wouldn't want to be standing.

Next I sit in Ellerslie I hope it's in someone's living room watching their choice of whatever's on TV.

So whilst we go into a 10th year of waiting for a new stadium..... Another club announces a new stadium...

Plus Luton...

I'm struggling to think of any club in the southeast with an older stadium, undeveloped, than us now....

Stevenage and Colchester??

Colchester have had a purpose built one for about 15 years .
Pass by it often enough on A12.

Nevertheless, we're tremendously lucky to retain the services of Lee Hoos, whose splendiferous performance in overseeing/taking credit for our numerous outstanding managerial appointments (seven in the seven years since he joined), taking such terrific care of LR, treating supporters with not so much as a hint of chortling contempt/V-signing abuse, and generally coming over as a football-savvy guy you'd love to have a pint with is something I must once again set on record. Keep it up, you transatlantic pride of West London town!

They built 2 stands about 20 years ago, their away end is still a temporary stand. They also have to watch Macaulay Bonne prance about, so I'm inclined to think LR is better.

So more modern than LR then.

Also remember reading they are open to moving if they climb the leagues.

Well, half of the ground is more modern, a quarter is older than LR and a quarter is a temporary structure, so again I think LR is better on balance.

Gillingham have been talking about moving for years, maybe the new owners will be able to push it through but we'll have to see what happens.

I wish we would make significant changes to our current Manager, our lack of a half decent striker, our often 'disappearing In action' midfield, our unintelligent and can't think for themselves defence, our goalkeeper, our goalkeepeer coach, our goalkeeper coach who coaches our goalkeeper how to kick a football, Our yoga teacher Ms Lettuce and the floodlights.

My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.

Point I'm getting at Ted...

Well, one things for sure, we won’t be out North Greenford way as they’ve just reintroduced Beavers around Horsenden Hill. No 5hit- it’s in the paper.

Did I ever mention that I was in Minder?

I'm pleased you suggested this mate I was coming on here to say the same thing. Wonder if it's been considered? Dig it right down into the water table I reckon.

We wouldn't need to worry about he sprinklers coming on during play then.

I recon they might end up reprofiling each stand, also they could buy the school end up and turn it into an events centre/hotel and they make the extra income that way.

I struggle to see us doing any substantial.

Just looking at the School End, and I do honestly wonder if its actually possible to remodel that stand into a single tier within the current footprint?

You could knock the whole interior of the stand down and rebuild the stand into one single tiered stand, I recon capacity could be around 2500 ish if we done that along with a better concourse.

Also you could make away allocations more flexible given the fact that you already have entrances/exits on SA Road and Ellerslie Road, so you could ether give the whole stand, three fourths of the stand, half the stand or a quarter of the stand.

I just wonder if my idea is actually feasible?

Sounds do-able, but, the cost-benefit?
