To be fair to the BBC, its one of their most viewed live events every year so makes sense for them to push it as much as possible. Just a bit of fun aint it.

AND WHEN I DREAM , I DREAM ABOUT YOU AND WHEN I SCREAM I SCREAM ABOUT YOU!!!!!
My youngest daughter is smitten with the garbage and seeing as it was her 21st in March we all chipped in and bought tickets for the final rehearsal on the Saturday afternoon at £240 each.We break the good(?) news to her that she was going to see the thing for probably the only time in her life and then she tells us that she has booked a holiday to Turkey leaving on the Friday afternoon. Luckily we got our £480 back via ticketmaster resale site. A license to print money by the robbing b@stards.

Actually quite uplifting.. more fun to watch than Rangers. Even had better ball control during Rita Ora ‘s bit. It’s good to see a multitude of nations being joyful together. Eurovision is an event that celebrates diversity. It’s about far more than the music.

Friends of ours are going up as a family of 6 having been lucky enough to get tickets…to one of the semi-final…dress rehearsals. Cost them over £1,000, which is ridiculous given they could get a couple of QPR 23/24 season tickets for that money.
On second thoughts…

Like all songs, you have to hear them several times before they grow on you so it's natural not to like something the first time you hear it. Even then, there's a lot of below average songs but to call the whole thing shite? You sound like a woman I know who thinks football is shite because it's just "a bunch of men running about and kicking a pigs bladder, what's the point?"
It's just a bit of fun, or the start of an ulcer, up to you I suppose.

So much hate for something you don't watch.

Agree its absolute rubbish, but they've managed to retain an audience my playing up the camp aspect to the max. Even bloody Australia enters now after initially being in as a one off.

It was exciting watching the TV broadcast in grainy black and white Eurovision, all the way from over the Channel, and enjoyed listening to Katie Boiler introducing Pearl Carr et Teddy Johnson perform, 'sing little birdie'
Nowadays, I only watch the scoring if I happen to be around.
There was a recent film with Will Ferrell based on the Icelandic entry to the competition, Fire and Blood?absolutely daft but I found it a hoot!

Isn’t creating a thread purely to declare your subjective hatred for something that’s completely inconsequential and harmless a bit of an odd thing to do?

Me and my partner have two 10 year olds between us. They watched it last year and absolutely loved it, me and my partner didn’t, as it’s not our cuppa tea. But this year we are going all in as a family, doing fancy dress, nibbles from the nations. I’m going all in because, the girls will love and it will be fun. Do I care that people think I’m a d!ck head for enjoying myself? Absolutely fcking not.

Believe it or not, this thread, like the eurovision song contest, is just a bit of fun, as well.
