In his latest recruitment interview, JimMC says he is still working very hard at getting players in AND out. We haven't many left to choose from to depart.
EEL, Ball, John, Rodney, Sinclair, Taylor. Hopefully any/all of the first 3 mentioned. |
Of all the names mentioned, we can afford to either Ball or John, personally I do not think we can afford to let anymore leave, because the recruitment seems to be based on cost, rather then quality. I am still hopeful of chasing a play off spot, but you need a good squad, but you can only hope the board realise that the fans want to return to the EFL, rather then become a fixture in the NL, because the NL is a difficult league to get promotion from due to the good teams in the league.
Yes, we all accept the books needed to be addressed after the expenditure over the last few years, but cutting to much, can actually be counter productive. [Post edited 9 Jul 2023 18:04]

That's a pretty decent squad to be going on with. Seems to have cover for every position (providing Cam John makes a decent job of left-back) and some young, hopefully hungry players competing for places. A sprinkling of veterans (Hendo, Adam Clayton, Jimmy K and EEL), but the rest 25 or under so capable of developing and improving. And some young players who could be ready to make an impression - the three loanees (Moulden, Oduroh, Johnson), the two young wingers Afuye and Shubber and some of the scholars (Oscar Kelly, Nevett, maybe more).

JMc did say at the forum that 'discussions were ongoing' with a few players, so perhaps now is the time to speed up the process a bit.
Still a strange decision to recall him, unless they have suffered a serious injury to a player of their own. |  |

FFS ....... given an unexpected and unwanted development in relation to Johnson the Board and JM have clearly moved together with alacrity to resolve a potentially difficult scenario ...... they certainly didn't "slumber" or "drag feet" . On a separate point I've noted with interest the number of times new recruits have commented that the transfer process has "taken time" and they're pleased to finally get the deal over the line . that's the nature of modern football and my take on that is the Board and JM etc have worked diligently together to get deals JM wanted done , not shown a lack of commitment .
