Quite a few comments on social media about the approach that Sarina Wiegman has taken - certainly to her overall strategy of play and critically her tactical use and timing of her substitutes. All positive and all of which I agree with. Still there are people, supposedly England supporters, being critical of the standard of football in the competition, and England's approach. I find this mind boggling. Dear old Gareth Southgate, whom I like and respect, could take a leaf out of Wiegman's book in terms of the way she sets it all up and plays (yes, I know they are different players), and importantly how she uses her substitutes and the timing of the substitutions to make such an impact. Gareth has simply not discovered that yet, and I don't think that he will. |

We were talking about this at work and agreed the ladies are playing football as it should be played
The Germans are a bit more canny and may very well beat us on Sunday..... but I don't think the girls will die without trying and doing it their way.

The Wiegman remark was tough in cheek,as I can't ever see a woman coach manager running a UK male professional team in my lifetime.... we checked and I think there is one in the 8th tier!!!!

That is certainly true, but if it wasn't being played in England the English betting public wouldn't have paid much interest! I doubt that many bets have been placed worldwide on this event.

The England team are staying at my health club, which has a hotel and conference centre, and playing fields so accommodate these kinds of teams. There are a lot of men wearing dark suits and looking intimidating and a number of middle aged women looking a bit confused just trying to get to Pilates who wouldn't recognise an England player if she dribbled round them and did a roulette. |  | | |

I only learned about this relatively recently when reading an article on the BBC website about the history of the womens FA cup. Its nowhere to be found on our own official website for club history. I'm surprised at this, it should still be something our club should be proud of. |  | | |
