Over 100 people in the ground today on 23:28 - Sep 17 by Scotia | Until there is a 100% accurate instant test the only way to protect a large crowd is to ensure they're protected by a vaccine. If 20000 people tested negative 2 days before a game a few may have subsequently tested positive and then be spreading it around the Liberty. Just look at what happened at boardmasters Festival. |
So cancel the football then? You talk about vaccinated people being “less likely” to pass the virus on. Less likely but still likely. Bit of a conundrum isn’t it?

Over 100 people in the ground today on 23:49 - Sep 17 by Jack123 | Must say, I think clowns is the wrong word to use! If you don't believe in something, you don't believe in it, it's as simple as that, and none of you should blame ronald or afd, for pushing any dis-information, I was at a stage back before Christmas last year, where I had already chosen not to take it. And I must say, it is nice to read an alternative view rather than listen to bbc/itv all the time. Had the Itv on early this morning, may as well call it the covid channel, I'd had enough after a while, turn it off I said to the missis, what shall we watch? I said nothing, put some music on. But she said it's too early for music, and wouldn't let me. , so she flicks it over, to bbc1, and it's an interview with the fella from the wanted, which was very sad, and what a brave fella. It’s very easy to insult people when somebody thinks they’re of a superior intellect to someone else just because they don’t fully trust a narrative that’s being fed to them unrelentingly. Let’s see where we are in three years - see how vaccinated people have got on and also the unvaccinated . If all the unvaccinated are dead then the “I’m right, the “clowns“ were wrong!” can be shouted from the rooftops. We will see just how effective the vaccines are against the plethora of variants.

Cancelling the football and other things is one of the only options at the moment. Back to lockdown we go. Less likely to pass it on to to someone less likely to die is as good as we can hope for. Unfortunately there is a nasty virus going around. If you can think of an alternative I'm all ears.

But , as you say , still likely to pass it on. I don’t have the answer. What I’m saying is that what Drakeford is proposing doesn’t make any sense at all. And I don’t think you believe it does either.

It's a matter of trust. I'm sure I'm not the only one who doesn't trust in what we are being told. I'm not listening to Russell Brand, mate. Brand isn't even against the vaccines. All I'm saying is, some people don't trust these tests, and some people don't trust the vaccines. Those people who don't trust the tests are OK and don't get any abuse. Those who may not trust the vaccines though, wow, they get some stick.

Over 100 people in the ground today on 23:20 - Sep 17 by Scotia | So everyone needs a test to prove they haven't got a virus they are less likely to get and spread to protect the 10% of clowns who've decided not to have the vaccine? Even though the current planned testing regime is full of holes putting the vulnerable at risk because a negative test means very little? I'll be honest, the more this is going on I think people should be under house arrest if they aren't vaccinated., oh and turn their Internet off too. |
Come on mate. So you guys are allowed to say that the tests we are going to be taking are useless and a waste of time, yet no-one can say anything against the vaccines. How come the government are happy to use these tests for safety reasons, yet you say they are useless?

Tests may not be 100%, but they must be pretty good, right? Vaccines aren't 100%, but we are still being expected to take them, becaues, even thought they are not 100%, they will save many lives. They may not save all lives, but it's still worth it, right? Isn't it the same with these tests? They may not be 100%, but if everyone has them and tests negative in the ground, surely that's so much safer than not having the tests? Maybe a few people will still get a false negative and pass it on, but that number would still be far less than if only double jabbed were alowed to the game.

Very good points all of them. So we can logically deduce that even though vaccinated people will have every chance of passing the virus on (by virtue of the fewer restrictions they have imposed upon them). So - if Double vaxxed persons go nightclubbing and would naturally be in very close contact - possibly intimately) - with other Double Vaxxed - they are exempt from testing and can just rock up at the game possibly carrying the virus asymptomatically? Then they go to the football in most cases less than 15 hours later? Yet the careful non vaxxed person ( who hasn’t been mixing with possible contaminees ) has to (likely) take time off work to get tested, sweat on the results not coming back in time and pay for a ticket he/she may not be able to use?? And as Jackrmee points out isn’t it a sham if they don’t work anyway? If that isn’t discriminatory I don’t really know what is. I’d be gobsmacked if there wasn’t a legal challenge to this - utterly. I wonder if supporters of all the Welsh clubs including rugby fans who face the same at the autumn internationals (I presume they’re on this year) would consider getting together and funding a legal challenge? It’s something I thought Assembly Members might just look into leading (for their convictions or for other reasons - they’re not politicians for nothing let’s face it). An unvaccinated person is more likely to catch the virus and transmit the virus than a vaccinated person. They are also many times more likley to be seriously ill, even younger, fit people are getting seriously ill. If everybody was vaccinated there wouldn't be this farce with LFT's and we could all get on with our lives. The current situation though, with Drakeford saying faking an LFT will be a criminal offence just adds to the lunacy, how can they possibly know, let alone prove that someone faked a test? I am double vaxed and I have my card with my name and DOB on it, why do I need another pass? My card details match my season ticket details. It's another level of beaurocracy and wasted money. I'm sure Drakeford said he wouldn't pass any new covid laws because people would just ignore them and then he says this?

Perhaps our Government and NHS chiefs should go and ask Uttar Pradesh how they managed to do it. They have a population of 241 million with only 70 million single vaccinated and a total of 199 active cases, 11 new cases and 0 (zero) deaths in the last 24 hours as of the 10th of September. I'll be honest with you, I think the only people spreading the virus at the moment, are the vaccinated, basically super spreaders. I read an article the other day, about mereks or is it mareks disease, and the only way I would contemplate a jab is to protect me from the vaccinated, super spreaders not the virus.

I'll have to rely on the prof to correct me if I'm wrong but the vaxed people are far less likely to transmit the virus than the unvaxed, I don't know if they have any actual percentages but as an example, would you feel safer if a vaxed was only 20% likely to spread it but an unvaxed was 80% likely to spread it? Remembering the unvaxed are many times more likely to get hospitalised. I do agree Drakers has got this test thing and the pass system wrong, if the unvaxed want to take their chances then fine, it's their life. Us vaxed people know we are safer. To be honest I think people will fake the tests. People who are symptomstic have turned up to work, even in the NHS and at the DVLA, if they'll knowingly break those rules I reckon they'd fake tests too, rugby tickets are very expensive. As far as discrimination, isn't this allowed under public health rules? PHR give government plenty of leeway don't they?

When going to a game with your shiney vax passport to mingle with the rest of the vaxists. Are you going to avoid public transport, pubs, shops or anything else that may be part of your regular matchday experience? After all these places do not require vaxist passports or LFT to gain entry. Think of all that shedding going on in the stadium. I I think a fully vaxxed person is 50% less likely to get infected at all, so can't spread it in that case. I also think a vaccinated person can carry a lower viral load so is still less likely to spread it. I don't think anyone knows the precise figures. Of course an unvaccinated person is just spreading it everywhere with no mitigation. The other thing to consider is that if everyone in a crowd was vaccinated there would be the additional reduction of an infected vaccinated person spreading it to another vaccinated person and it going no further, which wouldn't be the case among unvaccinated people. The test system proposed by Drakers is a farce, the tests themselves are fine but the system is totally open to fraud.

I think you're missing the point though Mr Cat. The point is in the ground. All the unvaxxed would have tested negative. Therefore, there is no way they will be passing on Covid. The vaxxed will be the only ones who could possibly have Covid inside that ground, and due to the vax, they probably won't even know it. Some vaxxed people on here are pressurising the unvaxxed to get jabbed, and sayin that they are only taking that stance, because they are looking out for the unvaxxed, as they don't want to get ill and die etc. The vaxxed are safe and they simply want the best for the unvaxxed and to keep them safe, hence why it's not safe for them to come to the games. I the vaxxed are safe and they just want to make sure the unvaxxed don't get ill, why would they not take a simple, free test to prove they don't have the virus and can't pass it on in the game?

But sir, there will be no unvaxxed people in the ground to spread it mun. They will all have tested negative ro they can't come in. Do you really think there are fans in Swansea who will go to the game even though they know they have tested positive and could liberally kill an elderly fan or fellow supporter?
