How are they re-looking at cases never reported? . Surely cases reported but not investigated properly

No. Cases where they knew people had been victims, but where victims had not, or would not, report the offence(s). Without a 'report' there would be no investigation, because without the evidence of the victim, there is no possibility whatsoever of a conviction. The victims need to have faith in the system - that they will be properly protected and sadly, the adversarial nature of the court system is a big deterrent to victims of sexual crimes. There is no doubt many cases are going unreported and thus not investigated because when a vulnerable female (or male) is cross-examined and accused of lying, being immoral, sexually promiscuous and all the other sh!te that goes with it, the ordeal isn't worth it to them. Now that the 'victims' are much older, more mature and more hopefully able to face the probing nature of the investigation it is hoped that these vile creatures can finally be rooted out and prosecuted. Let's hope so. In the meantime, deport the rapists and paedophiles who were convicted 5 years ago.
