Restaurant owners: There is no need to conjure up an air of mystery with your menus by using a vague plural. We all know that "scallops" means just two of the blighters, unless the diner has found a four-leaved clover that very day
"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

I'd like to see the back of mobile phones. People managed fine without them OK. I resisted for many years but Iwas held up in a terrible crash in the M4 and took many hours to get home, so my wife insisted. I still only have a little ten quid jobby for emergencies.

The Great Dorset Steam Fair may well be a steam fair held in Dorset but it is a very long way from being great. As it is cursed by just about everyone in a 50 mile radius, I suggest it should be renamed.
Mind you, the residents of Dorset are still in awe of such modern technology.

They do not use them in Cyprus in fact I'm not sure they are fitted as standard over here more like an optional extra.
assuming that you're in Cyprus as opposed to 'North Cyprus' - spend a lot of time there as my wife is Turkish Cypriot and can confirm they don't use their indicators north of the border either!
Can we not knock it?

It shouldn't really be such a surprise, when you get to the front of the queue at the supermarket and they ask you to pay.
I find it's women that find this most confusing, there is always a few moments before they realise they don't have a bloke there to pay and then fumble about in their bag irritated.

Blokes tend to have cash or card ready in hand.
