Dilemma of renew? Or not to renew? 17:45 - Mar 23 with 16441 viewsbermudajack

I’ve never ever considered this in the past, I’ve held two season tickets since we moved from the vetch, but for the first time ever.. under the current circumstances we find ourselves in, I’m having second thoughts about renewing both my season tickets 😩
I cannot bare the thought of those yanks having a penny of my money to line their pockets and I’ve left it really late this year due to my reservations... and now I hear their diluting the Trusts shares and will probably sell everything not nailed down this summer 😳
I am considering just rejoining the jack army membership and going to the off away match instead?
Anyone else in the same position?

Why doesn’t a mod just ban this cùnt?

Isn’t it funny that posters that can’t agree with another poster, just wants them banned

And this is supposed to be in a democratic country

Yes I can understand if this was like a country as the Soviet Union. In where the leaders there like to suppress the truth about what has happened and happening in their country

The truth more often than not hurts and the reason in why they don’t like it heard

I’m not so sure that as you say, the marjority on this guestbook will still attend games

At the moment, there’s something like 18k attending matches at the moment

Let’s see firstly if the season tickets are the same as this season

And of course if attendance drop

Both will drop sugnificantly I will say

I doubt if season ticket purchases will be the same as last season for this as many gambled on us staying up and so would be able to enjoy the delights of thePL again.

Unfortuneately I believe we will see attendances fall,as we are now potentially at the top of a downward spiral. Rememember at the Vetch there was historically a "hard core" fan base of around 3500, as we started to climb up the leagues agai this increased and then the move to the Liberty brought adddional fans,in some cases other family members who were happy now to come to a nice new shiny stadium. We also attracted those who wanted to watch PL football not entirely "true" "diehard" fans but enjoyed top flight footie and they could also support their "local" side.

Now we find ourselves in the Championship ,and at times playing more attractive football than we have for several seaons but lookinglike at best we will see ourselves not returning to the PL in the short term. THis means the "average" fan may well fall away and thus begins the down ward spiral as income drops further so less monies to invest on the field making us less competitive leading to relegation possibly with further loss of fans and so it goes on. OF course all the current off field events are not helping and I understand fully the distrust and anger felt towards the current owners but this I am not giving a penny to the Yanks attitude is strange, most of us were happy paying in whilst we were enjoying the PL and the so called "fans for the fans" were extracting cash and lining their pockets via "inflated " salaries, using thier businesses to porvide services such as buildong to the club...was there asny competitive tendering for the construcion of the acadamy or Fairwood facilities?

Our club needs every fan it has the team needs our support, especially next season if we end up with a team full of youngsters. I can understand why some say they will not return until the Yanks are gone....who knows when that might be, or who follows them they could be even worse!

I have renewed I wont give up on my club....because it is my club those who own it have temporary stewardship....it is my club and it was my Dads club before me.....Our problem was we were gullible and thought now fans had ownership of the club all would be well and the likes of the days of the Petty era would never reoccur....because Huw told us so!!

SO come on renew and lets get behind the Swans!!

I’ve never watched Cardiff as a first team. Only when it was acceptable (before fools like you came around) that you could watch Cardiff one week and Swansea the next

Still know Swansea supporters that still watch Swansea that does exactly that eve now and good on them

From 1977 and up till 3 years ago there’s only been one team to support and that hasn’t been Cardiff

I won’t use the crude words what you use. As I was brought up to respect people with a different opinion and certainly not to use the language you have used

Doesn’t say much for Swansea parents in how they have brought up their children

Best go back to Cardiff then. You seem to knock every Swansea fan on here.
You certainly have no respect.
I wonder if you have one of those half and half scarves.

No I have no half and half scarves

I have no club shirts either as I don’t think wearing club shirts makes you a better supporter than the one that don’t

I wonder if you would wear one going to a Millwall, West Ham game or a few other clubs I could mention other than covering those shirts up when coming near that ground

Its up to the individual whether they wear club shirts or not.
I did wear one last time I went to West Ham, at Upton park when we won 4-1.
Stayed in the area that evening and had banter, not bother.
You should get a half and half scarf made.

Who in the Trust did know that Cooze was being paid by Swansea City

Because if that is the case

There’s going to be a lot of red faces in the Trust, as they have denied knowing they knew anything about money being paid to Cooze

So if those people in the Trust, as you say, knew about what was happening. Shouldn’t they have stepped down as they would be as bad as Cooze himself

There’s a statement issued by the Trust stating something differently to what you have said and will certainly find it for you to read

If you want to run a respected Trust. Then matters like this must be revealed

No way

If I’m wrong then I will apologise and accept that but I was always under the impression that the Trust board knew he was being paid - happy to be proven wrong if that’s the case

Very naive to imagine that the interests of the Trust and those of Jenkins, Morgan, Katzen & co. were in total alignment all that time. And disappointing for Trust members if there really was no one fighting their corner all that time.

I can't imagine that's what you meant, though. It's a pretty insulting stance to take on the work he did on behalf of the Trust and supporters.

"i can't imagine that's what you meant, though i thought i'd respond like a pedantic little tvvat anyway."
Glad to know that you appreciate the good work that Huw Cooze did at his time at the trust, and his employment at SCFC though.

Erm, no if this board were like the Soviet Union, you would kinda disappear off here forever, without trace. As we are in a democracy people have the right to call for you to be simply banned as they think you're a c unt. That's free speech for you.

It's not pedantic to take what you said at face value.

Not worth giving people the benefit of the doubt on here, though. All crusaders looking for excuses to get angry and start melting down.

Of course it's being pedantic when you compare "pulling in the same direction" to "being in total alignment". when you should clearly know better in the context in which it was written.

A clown

Just because I brought up that Cooze took most of Trust members for a ride

Then glad to be called a clown other than someone that sticks up for someone that deceived so many

From the Trust statement

Money received by Cooze that you want Swansea supporters to forget about

In 2010 he received £5934

In 2011 he received £7219

In 2012 he received £12633

In 2013 he received £14438

In 2014 he received £18458

In 2015 he received £20028

In 2016 he received £38558

That’s besides in looking after his other interests in publishing match day programs

I wonder how many on this site realised the amount of money Cooze was getting directly from Swansea AFC

You can say what you like and use as much bad language as you can against me

It’s just like water running off a duck’s back

But the above is why so many lost faith in the Trust. Because there was no transparency in what officials of the Trust was getting away with

Back to the OP, I renewed because I enjoy going to matches and enjoy supporting the team, it's as simple as that for me. Keeping away as a protest isn't going to help the team in the slightest and isn't going to change the owners' minds about anything. And besides, feck em. I was here before them and I'll be here long after they've gone (with a bit of luck!).

Many on this site knew years ago the figures you have published, it was common knowledge! Where the fvck have you been man! Those figures reveal nothing more than someone being paid for a position at a Premier league club which at first was a part time position, then changed to a mandatory full time position under Premier league rules. This is not ground breaking stuff Mister, there's nothing too see here. Certainly nowhere near Huw Cooze "taking the fans for a ride" Wtf is the matter with you! NURSE!
