We did then go on our greatest second half season run in our PL history though...

But it is an interesting stat and the bottom feels far more bunched than it was last year on a lower points total, whether that is true or not I dont know, certainly feels that way though.

Genetically, paedophiles have more genes in common with crabs than they do with you and me. Now that is scientific fact. There's no real evidence for it, but it is scientific fact.

Another interesting act is there was much more points between us and 10th position than there is now.

So maybe not so shabby,at least we re not cut hopelessly adrift...still everything to play for.

Correct me if I'm wrong but that table would have been after our revival under Clement, didn't he win manager of the month for Jan? We went on a shocking run then, and still managed to stay up.

Can't afford a big blip in the run in this time.

I think you are right. Silva''s Hull kicking the sh!te out of us played a big part there.

Who was our 24th game against last season? We had two major blips in the last 4 and a half months last season didn't we?

Man City was 24th game last season but we then beat Leicester. We'd already been on a bit of a run by then.Palace, Liverpool and Soton , losing only to Arsenal. We had a terrible spell soon after. 6 games without a win.
This is what startled me the most. On the morning of the 22nd April we still only had 28 points.
Theres no way on earth we can win four of our last five like we did last season, just no way.

Yes but we didn't need to though, did we. On the 22 April we beat Stoke at home to take us to 31 points and we were just inside the drop zone. We had 4 games left at that point and as it turned out we only needed to win the 1 more.

That makes us having to repeat the 4 wins in 5 sound a lot more positive and encouraging. I don't think there'll be as bad a teams as the ones that went down last season though, but you never know with Brighton and Huddersfield looking poor at the moment.

So after Leicester we were on 24 points, we then went to Chelsea and lost there before beating Burnley at home to take us to 27. We then picked up just the one point from the next 6 games.

This is where we need to improve, we need to keep the scoreboard ticking over throughout. It's in our hands.
