Gomis 23:35 - Jan 2 with 8544 views | builthjack | All the Swans players went to the away fans after the game to say thankyou, except for Gomis who headed towards the tunnel. What's that all about?

Gomis on 09:23 - Jan 3 by Borojack | We got no chance with Austin QPR want 8 million he will want an Ayew / Gomis size signing on fee would cost 12 million minimum in total plus a hefty wage. Newcsstle Palace and Southsmpton are interested as well. He wont come to us. Bamford is a more realistic target. If we want him that is and Curtis said we dont. |
I thought Curtis said he didn't think that Bamford was one of the players we were pursuing but did admit that he didn't know who we were pursuing. Don't recall him ever saying he didn't want him.

Yes he said he was a good player but we already had our targets and would be sticking with them I think. But if we were interested Curtis wouldnt say I suppose.

So 1800 fans spend their hard earned money, and for a lot of those fans it is a large proportion of their weekly wage, to support their team, Gomis included. Every player, and Curtis, go over and thank those fans for that. All except Gomis. You seem to think that's fine, a £50k a week player disrespecting Swans fans. Odd. I am well grown up thank you my friend.

Gomis on 00:46 - Jan 3 by longlostjack | Course they care. You pay good money to go to a game and deserve a bit of of respect. Fair dos to Klopp - first thing he did at Anfield was get his players over to acknowledge the fans at the end of the game. When a player just heads for the tunnel they show themselves up as being an absolute branleur ! |
I'd like to think I've got more things to care about than being clapped by a bunch of overpaid babies. People need to grow up.

Would you have posted that if he had scored twice in injury time and was still the only one straight down the tunnel? It's peripheral and irrelevant. The fact is, he doesn't cut it on the pitch and that's the reason we need to cash in.

Gomis on 23:57 - Jan 2 by blaine_scfc | I know I'm like a broken record, but he's the only player at the club even close to being good enough playing as a lone striker in the premier league. I'm not saying he's great, but he's better than anything else we have so therefore must play. It's all well and good saying get rid, but even with him off the wage bill I personally don't think we have the funds to go out and buy a striker and you know our record with loan signings. An injury to Ayew or Siggy or God forbid both, we will literally have no one, and I mean no one to score goals in this league. |
I agree and think Gomis is a decent player- even Messi would struggle to score in our team at the moment. In saying that i hope we can find someone in January- our lack of creating goal-scoring opportunities is a concern.

What you mean like Jermaine Defoe, 3 years older than Gomis, played less games and scored more goals. including 2 yesterday.

Gomis on 09:28 - Jan 3 by jack247 | He won't cost £8m. They wanted that in the summer. They are reasonably safe from relegation, a long way off the playoffs and are going to lose him for nothing in a few months. |
They are hoping for a bidding war between the teams desperate for a striker, palace look the likeliest destination to fit Austin's needs as they are in London and in a good position in the table. Linking us falls into the name a team that wants a striker who might be available book of journalism

It's not their decision, it's Austins. They accept a bid from the club he wants to go to, or he goes there in the summer anyway.

You said "Would you have posted that if he had scored twice in injury time" well Defoe did almost that, one in ordinary play and one in Extra time. So he is older than Gomis but is still playing much better football and really puts in a shift.
Gomis on 15:13 - Jan 3 with 1158 views | MattG | Not that it matters a single, solitary shite but, from where I was stood, I saw Gomis clap us at the end. Yes, he didn't hang around for the rest of the players and was first down the tunnel but he did clap us.

Ok, you didn't quote the wrong post, you just missed the point. Gomis should be judged on how he is doing on the pitch (badly), not whether he claps the fans at the end. The point I was making was because we lost and Gomis didn't score, he got picked up on something immaterial. Defoe scoring twice in a different game isn't really relevant. If you want to turn this into a discussion about Defoe being better than Gomis, I agree with you.
