Tutte never played last season against us. (not that we'd be particularly worried about him). I know that was a Hill and Flicker thing, but gut feeling says that Clough will honour the same agreement with Hill. Could be wrong. |
Hill and Flicker are best mates though and that would have been a gentleman's agreement between them both - he was a free transfer. Sheff Utd have paid (500k rumoured)for Done and still could get automatic promotion. Besides we need them to go up to get more cash in the pot so best he scores to help their cause. We played at Bristol Rovers the week after we'd sold Lambert and he didn't play in that game as part of the deal, even though he had appeared for them the previous Saturday.
I know he played and scored at Spotland the following January and ALF appeared against us twice for Rotherham, but every deal seems to be different, so it will be interesting to see what happens on Tuesday. | |

With regards to the loyalty thing, (and putting aside the fact that he's started like a house on for for a moment) there is an argument, just like there is with Keith Hill, that Done has seen that the grass isn't always greener on the other side and that it's sometimes better to be at a club that's familiar to you and where you know you're loved. Where was Matt Done before we signed him first time? I'm aware that Palace were allegedly after him for a brief spell but after Barnsley, he was once again almost on the scrap heap before we snapped him up and ONCE AGAIN rejuvenated his career. If Hill was approached by a Championship bottom dweller (as Barnsley were) and then fooked off to double his wages, what would be the consensus? Hill and Rochdale is a good fit as is Hill and Done and Rochdale and Done.
Glad he's doing well though, seems like a nice lad. Thing is, it's incredibly important that he hit the ground running or else he could have easily been plucking splinters out of his arse and tbh he may still have to get used to doing that if he dries up - those massive clubs over the border are fickle bunch at the best of times. |  | | |

The reason, as stated our transfers are are undisclosed is so future selling clubs don't over inflate their fee. I asked him about the 1.5 mill banded about on here on deadline day and was told less than 400k. He as no reason to play down a fee as we're very critical for not spending a lot!!
