Never miss a good photo opportunity being this handsome ;-)

Do you know which game that was?

It was Millwall. And the photo was taken at Victoria Station after we went round south London past Crystal Palace, to avoid any agro with the Wall. I was there at the back (not in this photo).

I think this was the game where the BTP or met had a lot of their gear nicked because they were marching us too slowly up to South Bermondsey Station on their Jurrasic Park fenced off special away supporters walk way. It kicked off with the police and you could see there helmets being thrown around.

Everyone had to be searched at Paddington Station, I was living in London and had to convince them to let me go back to my London home and not back to Swansea.

In fairness that little shot was the tip of the iceberg.

There was a good reason why the police escorted us from The Den all the way back to Paddington Station and then again to Swansea.

There was probably 300 strong in that. The Wall can do what they like, brick it or not.

That day was like Groundhog day, because exactly the same thing happened a few years before. They didn't have the special walkway then and we had to walk past a traveller site. I remember for some reason 100's of coins being thrown into their site. After the game we had the same riot police escort but on the tube from Victoria to Paddington one of the BTP tear gas canister's was let off.

On that first occasion I mentioned there were some real tough nuts from Swansea. I think I heard that there had been posters and word of mouth trying to get as many nutters to go to the game.

I remember circa 2000 when football forums on the net were in their infancy, there were many "invites" from opposing fans to meet up for a rumble.

I knew a guy at the time who had recently qualified for the Police and he was telling me that a senior officer took no notice of the Internet as it would never "catch on"!!!!

Do we still have theses idiots "following" our club and dragging down its reputation? You would think they would have grown up by now looking at the age on some of them!

I'm not too sure. I remember all the Swansea fans were on the 6am train from Swansea that day. I got to London Bridge Station and there were 500 Swansea Boys singing surrounded by riot police.

Spot on and T2C is still "following" us he's going to Chelsea next week with 30 of his mates but they haven't got tickets.

I'd very much hope we haven't got them "following" us, but there will always be a small minority who have "issues" that they feel can be masked or numbed by being in a rabble causing havoc.

The first time I went there were a lot of known trouble maker's and boys who travelled up for a ruck. The game when those photos were taken it was just mostly normal fans. If you hadn't come by supporter's bus you were forced to go to Paddington with a police escort. Quite a few supporters at the back of the escort who lived in London were allowed to exit it at Victoria or Paddington.

Fair enough. I'd like to think that we have lost that element. We don't want to go back to the ugly scenes of the 70's and 80's when real fans were put off by the thugs who claimed to be supporters!

Just curious here... Have you watched us home and away throughout?

When I say throughout I mean, your teenage through adult life?

Yes we have moved on to a completely different level. You just got to look at the make up of our fan base for away games and the way they dress.

1)Much more families now go with their children
2) Swansea City Leisure wear is worn without fear.
3) There are much more females going these days.
4) very little arrests, if any at away grounds.
5) Huge praise from local police constabularies for our excellent behaviour. I remember taking 3,000 to Bolton and the police waving and thanking us for our behaviour.
