Just as Saints thought their evening against Leicester City could not get any worse, they suddenly found it could when Kamaldeen Sulemana was shown a red card in the final minute of injury time, however there is some good news.
Luckily for Southampton on Friday evening when Sulemana was shown a red card in the 4-1 defeat to Leicester City, it was in the final minute of injury time so it had no real bearing on the game.
But it had a bearing on the next one and now the good news is that Southampton FC have confirmed that they have appealed the sending off and have been successful.
That means that Sulemana will be available to play against Ipswich on Tuesday night.
Boosted by Sulemana's now available status, Saints’ manager also provided an update on the availability of Jan Bednarek, who missed Friday's outing, and Flynn Downes, who limped off after 50 minutes.
"Flynn Downes came off and is a bit doubtful for tomorrow. It’s not going to be a long one, but it’s touch and go for tomorrow.
Jan Bednarek is back in the squad and we won our appeal with Kamaldeen, so Kamaldeen is in the squad which is good news.”
