As you've said previously, it's all about money. Although it could be argued that saving money to sign players a month later is a false economy because it messes up the pre-season. That is of course if our owners are really interested in anything other than trying not to get relegated. |

I assume it's something on the lines of reacting badly to not playing which only decreases the chance of playing next time. Then repeat the cycle. Although something he has said or done must have been pretty bad for him to appear to be in the same place now. |

Indeed. The pundits saying what they really thought at the end. Nice guy got the squad together with no cliques but years behind as a coach. He built his team around Kane who wasn't fit, no matter what he says. Kane can't play a high pressing game and needs players to run past him when he plays deep. The rest of the team are much more used to pressing high but can't because of Kane. Southgate looked to put what he believes are his best 11 players on the pitch even if that puts them in unfamiliar roles or uses tactics they aren't suited for. Like so many England managers before him. There are good players in the squad but Southgate couldn't fashion a team out of them that was better than the sum of the individual players. If Man Utd had appointed him as manager I reckon he would have been found out in no time. |

But got them to the final. |

They got to the final despite Southgate. Much better team without the unfit Kane and playing positive football further up the pitch when Southgate's plan A had failed. Pundits slagging off Southgate's tactics, team selection and mindset which has been quite obvious all the way through the tournament. |

I know it was a long time ago, was Dean Leacock photographed in a Swans shirt before his transfer broke down? |

That is an entirely different question😊 |

No problem - it would be a sad world if everyone agreed on everything and equally sad if when we disagree that we can't respect each others opinions. Watching a game live is a different experience to watching it on the box. Live you can pick up things that a camera focussed on the ball won't show, whilst on the box you get the advantage of multiple camera angles but can be influenced by the commentary and thoughts of ex-players. I think that whichever way you watch a game you are entitled to an opinion, although those opinions will come from different perspectives. |

There are a lot of reasons why people can't go to watch games from costs through family and/or caring responsibilities, illness, work or living elsewhere and probably others. You are entitled to your opinion, however I don't believe you are considering what the realities of life may be like for others. As for Bellamy, I can't believe that he would be in his current role if there were any temperament issues. His past is his past. |

Yep. A mate went up to the game and sat on his hands for most of it, I remember him telling me about it. |

Remember a former striker of ours who was nicked in Belgium alongside a nus of the dole crew when supporting England and later got sent down for throwing a hoarding at Leeds fans when our neighbours were home to them. |

Where did Martyn finish his goalkeeping career and start his coaching career. Slipped my mind at the moment.😉 |

Celtic signed him for £2.5 million and there has been paper talk for a month or so of Genk offering £3.5 million. I would be surprised if we were interested based on those figures. Needs regular football though as he was dropped from the South Korea squad. |

I don't believe that anyone offered £10 million for him last season. If anyone had, we'd have bitten their hands off. |
