Well I've been faced by a few crowds of Anti-Welsh Bristolians, when I lived there for a time. Dealt with it by humour, talking, insults and the occaisional fight. When that happened my English friends stood alongside me. One of the big advantages of being Welsh is you quickly realise you are part of many groups and different identities, and that is what it means to be an individual rather than just having a group identity. Fighting Racist is one thing I'll happily fight it alongside you, but buying into this french philosophical 1970's cultural marxism to divide people and erase individuality in favour of a single group identity is naive and dangerous. Hate Crime or Thought Crime what is the difference, when no proof is needed? Remember the totalitarians whether from the Right or Left come for people one group at a time, and if you dont speak out there will be no-one to speak for you when they eventually come for you. |

I find this whole thread both 'harmful and defamatory'. So will you all please send me your personal details so I can forward them on to the police and report you all as responsible for a Hate Crime. Fortunately unlike a real crime I don't need any evidence other than my opinion. The police will probably be round to see you all early next week as this is the most important crime for them to deal with. Please remember to include your work address so if they cant find you at home, they can come round to your work. |

Actually you have identified the one position where we dont have adequate cover - Connor. Kyle is excellent at FB or CB. He's not a WB and Manning is left footed and has only played as a Left WB or left/centre midfield. He's never played as a RWB. We have strength in the squad now and SC is starting to cycle players into the team, to avoid fatigue and injury, whereas most teams arent. A sensible move from SC However despite Connor's athleticism he can still get injured, so we really do need cover there, unless SC has the thought of developing Latibeaudiere into a WB but I see him as cover for Marc Guehi currently. |

Their defence will be significantly weakened and lacking in height. Two attacking FB's who are weak in the tackle and two short CBs who arent good in the air and a young keeper learning his trade. We have to push them back and put them under pressure from the start and stop them getting into their stride. We will need a strong midfield and Bidwell and Connor need to force their FBs into defending. We have options at no10 although I would start Dhanda he deserves it after the midweek performance |

If its unconscious bias how would you know? The test they use, since about 1998 has been proven not to work, so what evidence of their unconscious bias could they have been presented with. From the article the evidence used apparently was an interview. They were asked questions in an interview. I dont know about you but I tend to be conscious when talking to people, except in a few rare occaisions down the pub. Perhaps the interviewer took them down the pub in an attempt to get through to their unconscious. |

It is very good, and normally the away form of a team destined for automatic promotion 20 points out of a maximum of 30 points, 2 points per match. The sad truth is we havent been able to back it up at home, where in that same time period we have 3 wins, 2 draws and 3 losses only 11 points from a maximum of 24 or about 1.38 points per match, which is no better that lower mid table about 16th/17th place. We need to sort out our home form where we seem devoid of ideas to break down teams who come to defend or match the attacking intent of teams that come to win. I hope Steve Cooper can come up with the right formula and soon. Tomoorrow preferably. |

For those of you of a science fiction inclination, this concept of unconscious bias is very much like being accused of a pre-crime, from Phillip K Dick's short story 'Minority Report'. No crime has been commited but you are guilt because some supposed 'infalible group of individuals' can see the future and have seen the future where you were guilt of commiting the crime. You must be guilt because this group say you are. I prefer real scientific evidence, arather than the opinion of those who say they are right but can't back it up with reliable evidence. |

I have read it and now re-read it. It's not your article that is the issue, its the definition often used but by its nature is incorrect. "Unconscious biases are social stereotypes about certain groups of people that individuals form outside their own conscious awareness. Everyone holds unconscious beliefs about various social and identity groups, and these biases stem from one’s tendency to organise social worlds by categorising." This is what is known as a self justifying definition but no less incorrect. An unconscious bias, if it exists, is unconscious therefore by its nature the individual is unaware of any bias, so how does the psychologist know its exists nevermind being able to say it is social stereotype. Well they use what is known as Implicit Association Test which is a fast response to images flashed in front of the recipient. This test has been debunked over recent years where even the supporters of the test have been forced to admit it probably doesnt measure unconscious bias. This was found out by people taking the measure more than once yet coming up with completely opposite outcomes. |

Excellent article, however I take issue with the comments on unconscious bias. It's not what is described in the article, what is described might be called something like Subliminal bias, something you take in from the world around. Unconscious bias, is exactly that unconscious, so by definition nothing can be done about it because you are completely unaware of it at a conscious level. Indeed even saying unconscious bias exists cannot be known but only assumed probably as a result of the subliminal or unconscious bias of the individual making the assertion. |

He was excellent, with his insight and knowledge of the game. He sees the game clearly and his comments on our lack of ambition to make runs past the defence and counter attack quickly. I hope he is on again Tuesday. |

For me the best form of defence is being able to keep the ball for long periods without giving it away. We singly failed to do that yesterday. There was a time where that’s how we would see out close matches, instead we spent most of the match in a low block and allowed Bristol to keep the ball. I thought bringing on Gyokeres was a good sub and he looked dangerous. However there it is a fair comment that unless players on the bench get sometime on the pitch when we really need them they won’t be ready. |

Well so are Millwall 6th so we are joint 6th. To get 70 points this season we will need to score more goals than 8 from 7 matches, which would get use just over 50 goals. You have a look the last time a team who scored just over 50 goals achieved the play offs. We were one of the lowest qualifers last year on 62 goals, and of course we have played all the toughest teams so far so only easier matches to come. There isnt enough goals in the way we play so there wont be enough points either. We can pretend for a while that isnt the case but unless we change our style this is what every match will be like until Gibbs-White is fit. We need Kasey Palmer playing and we need to pass the ball more and more accurately. Our passing performance along with our overall performance was poor. Sad to say Connor is now a liability, he cost us that match by diving in an attempt to get a free kick. He shouldnt be playing next match |

Actually we are 7th in the league. i didnt pick the block of matches its just the one the leading websites use to calculate current performance. If you prefer 9 points out of a possible 18 points, with most of those teams being low in the league, Hardly inspiring. However its not really about the results its about the performance on the pitch, If you spend most of the time defending with 8 defenders then you will be hard to score against, but you also wont create much at the other end. The question you need to think about is what happens at home when we need to get a positive result? So far we have 4 points from a possible 9 points at home and not against any top teams. When we need to be positive because teams come to press us and defend, we look like we dont have a clue what to do? I have a prediction for the Stoke match now. We will lose, if we carry on playing this way. |

Two points out of Nine and 2 wins in the last 6 matches. The performance was dreadful, we defended well, more like we defended when what we needed to do was control the midfield and play a passing game, Instead we kept 8 men back defending against about 5 of their players and allowed them to play the ball into our box instead of stopping them 20m further up the field. Our press didnt exist we just conceded ground and allowed them to play into dangerous areas, This is appalling and unless we change we are going nowhere. Complaining about the budget when what is wrong is how we are playing is missing the point. |
