Of course I don't 'know'. That is part of the lure of football. You can never know what is going to happen in a match. Reminds me of one of my favourite quotes 'If you know exactly what is going to happen, what exactly is the point in doing it ?' (Picasso). |

I'm amazed that Wimbledon is no. 4. It is complete and utter toy-town. As for the shortcomingds of LR, who gives a sh*t ? I go to watch the football and being 8m way from the action and having all 4 sides of the stadium on top of the pitch is more important to me than whether I can stuff my face and get in and out of the bogs at half-time |

I sometimes think the same. But Marti is a shrewd one. I look at him in the technical area and think he isn't pro-active enough but he is quietly going about his business and making us fit for purpose. Give him a realistic timescale and he will find a way. [Post edited 26 Sep 23:13]

Sounds up for it. I think there will be one goal in it. Hopefully goes our way. Yes, shame about Colback. I'd definitively have 2 CDM's in for this one. Maybe Field and Varane - although they both fulfil identical roles ??? |

I love watching Nardi. He's on his toes all the time and tries to make us a 'man over' at the back at all times. There's no doubt that it will go wrong sooner or later and we will gift a goal but fair play to them for implementing it. The only thing is, when we do beat the press we need to have the next bank of four in space and able to take control of the middle third, which is not happening all too often. |

I thought we phoned ourselves in also today. Gave them too much respect. They had very little but, because we seemed to keep a bit in reserve they were able to play much more than they should have been able to. That was very much a game of two bottom half teams today. |

The difference is that a Pep team can all pass and so it can pay dividends to play ticker-tacker until the cows come home.
At best it pays off once, maybe twice, per match for us so we need to shoot on sight. |

He isn't up to the lone striker role in any way, shape or form. Which is worrying because Marti will stick with it. Not sure what we are going to do with him, if I'm being honest. |

I can understand the line-up and the idea. Its not that we have 22 quality players that we can switch in and out. We currently have a decent, fit-for-purpose 14 or 15 and it is important that we put our best 11 out in the League. If I was Marti I would have done pretty much the same. |

I agree. I don't know what he has seen in Celar. Madsen too, yet to see him take things by the scruff of the neck. Quite worrying signs. But half of the new players are returning on the investment so I suppose that's not too bad. |

The town hall/police are pretty thorough but they don't quite go about the problem effectively enough. They somehow need to become a bit more international and to celebrate the different nationalities more. That said, there are a hell of a lot of chancers in the city because it's got a good climate, it's by the sea and things are pretty well organised in Spain. You've just got to take the rough with the smooth. There are a hell of a lot of people in this world who haven't got a roof to call their own over their heads. It just so happens that quite a few gravitate to Barcelona because they think the grass is greener there and conditions are better for them. People with a lot lot less than you or I. Lived in Barcelona for 4 months last summer (and melted in the heat for two of those).
I would say to visit the centre early in the day when the streets are less busy and try not to eat out or drink there. You will not eat well in the centre and it will not be a pleasant experience. As you are going for a big occasion go down to the Maremagnum where you will find a better quality restaurant or go 2 stops on the yellow line along the beach to Villa Olimpica Ciutadella where there are also fish restaurants around a (now overdeveloped) marina.
Better still, go to one of the two nearest towns (Badalona - north) and Casteldfells Mar (south), both about 40 minutes by metro or train. It will take a little bit of planning and effort but you'll be able to relax and stroll out there and you will eat in an authentic place with authentic Spanish (Catalan) food and wine served by Spanish (Catalan) staff. |

The majority of those were probably 10 minute appearances though. I know he got caught off-side a lot but I thought he was a bit unlucky for us and looked more of a striker than Dykes when he came on at times. |
