Southampton V Leicester City The Verdict
at 14:49:03

Actually the ref gifted Arsenal a goal the other week too, not interfering with play ... really. Has the fa got an agenda against us or is it just their officials.

Southampton V Leicester City The Verdict
at 09:21:51

Disagree with your comments about Sulemana I've seen nothing that indicates he doesn't want to be at the club and Onachu nodded on some good balls but we were too deep by then. Martin's usual tactical ineptness cost us dear, what was he thinking of bringing on Fraser rather than Taylor.

However the major influence on the game was by the officials let's review their performance.
1. Taylor tries to book the entire Southampton team in the first half while ignoring Leicester's persistent fouling of Fernandes amongst others
2. Vardy chops down one of our players with a reckless foul which would have had any of us our players sent off but receives only a yellow card. Sugawara has to go off injured. Vardy who should not still be on the pitch wins a penalty.
3. Taylor ignores a clear shirt pull in the penalty area right in front of him and var fails to intervene
4. As Leicester are only drawing Taylor decides to play over the allotted seven minutes to enable them to score their winner

This is as disgraceful a performance by the officials as you will see anywhere and the FA really needs to get exact together.

That said Sports Republic need to act and get rid of Martin and bring in a suitable manager unlike their previous attempts.

Southampton At Portsmouth The Women's Game Verdict
at 11:32:23

Think you are missing a trick not watching them more often. They often cheer me up after watching RMs miserable selections and tactics. In Molly Pike they have a top class player, just hope they can keep hold of her unlike the other three excellent players they let go prior to the season start.

To be honest I often prefer to watch the women's game given the constant cheating in the men's game (eg. diving and shirt grabbing) and the favouratism shown by the FA and match officials towards certain teams (eg see Arsenal's second).

As for the international side at least they win something occasionally, unlike the men's team whi h is constantly beset by favouritism selections.and poor tactics.

Southampton At Arsenal The Verdict
at 15:05:28

I agree that the performance was down to the team rather than the manager. That said Arsenal were somewhat fortunate in that if we had scored their second VAR would have disallowed it as there was clearly an offside Arsenal player interfering with play - scandalous really the way officials favour certain teams. Also we hit the post and bar. Thought Bednarak was tremendous incidentally.

Southampton Manager Admits Striker Omission Error At Bournemouth

Not signing Delap or the Corinthians striker is a fundamental error made by Sports Republic’s representatives, sadly not the only one.

Southampton Manager Admits Striker Omission Error At Bournemouth
at 11:15:53

He is so contradictory, says he wants to shield Tyler then gives him almost sole responsibility to play up front. I’m afraid he has lost my support just hope we don’t see a 9-0 on Saturday to keep Linekar and his cronies happy. I agree that Sports Republic have badly mismanaged by not signing a proven PL striker but I disagree with others that the squad is completely inadequate. With a decent manager we could survive but sadly we don’t have one.

Southampton At Bournemouth The Verdict

Dreadful performance with no excuse for Martin’s ineptitude. Then he has the nerve to blame the players. Officials were incredibly biased, would we have got away with taking a free kick with a possibly moving ball with one of our players down injured. I don’t think so. Poor sportsmanship from Bournemouth too.

I don’t think anything will change until we get a decent manager which seems a remote prospect with Sports Republic in charge.

Graham Potter Lined Up For Southampton Job
at 11:12:34

Time to wake up and smell the coffee. We have ‘enjoyed’ a relatively easy start to the season avoiding the ‘big’ teams and we have one point. Where exactly are we supposed to find the other 39 points we probably need to survive ? I thought the board should have looked at Potter previously so I do hope this rumour is true.

Sure I would like Martin to succeed and for us to find safety but hard to see that happening. There have been a few more signs in recent games that we have been prepared to clear our lines but does anyone seriously think that he would have dropped Jack Stephens if he had not been suspended. Martin sadly appears to be well out of his depth.

Southampton Summer Signings The Initial Verdict

Disagree about B-D and Archer, both look ineffective still leaving us without a reliable goal scorer (although I guess Tyler might be our savior there). SR have really let us down there again. In fairness most of the others look really good signings, particularly Fernando's and Sugawara.

Southampton V Ipswich Town The Verdict
at 14:22:44

I don’t think you are correct about the goal being unavoidable. What idiot told them not to leave anybody on the edge of the penalty area when there were three unmarked Ipswich players there. Mosey had all the time in the world, and even then needed a really lucky deflection.

Certainly some good points, such as Ramsdale, Dibling, Fernandes and Lallana, but I do worry where are goals are going to come from. Arma looks pale shadow himself last season, Archer has missed a number of opportunities and Stuart is either not fully fit or overhyped. Also hope that when he is fit Sulemana is given an opportunity rather than continuing to play Brereton Diaz on the wing. In fact, it might be worth giving Sam Amo-Ayew a chance until then.

Southampton V Manchester United The Verdict
at 10:23:01

Best thing about the game apart from Tyler is that Martin will be forced to drop Stephens for the next three games. We can only hope that he learns his lesson and appoints a new captain for the remainder of the season. I think you're a bit harsh on some of the other players particularly sigawara who for the big first 30 minutes or so we're excellent other than that I agree entirely Nick.

By the way type Sports Republic get your act together and sign up Tyler Dibling for the longest period possible.

Southampton At Brentford The Damning Verdict
at 11:05:22

I agree with a lot of these comments, particularly David and WSS. Jack Stephens was again the commen denominator in the major cock ups, when will Martin grow a pair and realise the captain needs to be changed a d Jack dropped.

Similarly his attitude to Tyler beggars belief. If he really can't last 90 minutes, which I doubt, start him before we go a goal down. He is a major major talent at this rate he will be sold for a relative pittance (like Alcaraz) before we see the best of him.

My view is that JB and THB are a perfectly good centre back partnership if we play sensibly and clear the ball when appropriate, I also think ABK would be good with either of them. KWP may well be better on the other side but Sugawra has been our best player by some margin. Perhaps move him into midfield (or even play him a striker given that he at least knows where the goal is - joking).

So Martin, drop Stephens, make Flynn Downes captain play Fernandes and Dibling, tell your defenders to clear the ball when appropriate. Six points needed against Ipswich and Everton or time to go, is Potter still available.
