Agree, I think it’s due to our desperate straights at the moment that we are constantly looking for something, anything to light a path. As someone else said, we win a few games and this story, along with a few others, fades away. On the other side of that of course lies the “play off charge” and “HMS piss the league” memes.

Maybe I’m just getting old and miserable

Both the solution to undernourryshment and my revised one word offering…surprisingly good for you. Go on, try Un for breakfast (see what I almost did there?)

As per the new diktat of Kim Jong Nourry....I wouldn't even announce my starting XI until after the game, if at all.

Much less the score of the match, it’s all tacky detail after all

There we can agree, Foden looks lost.

Maybe it’s just the hype I can’t stand, he’s clearly an exceptional talent and can affect games loke few others but I’d like a bit more humility. Win something with England and then you can be Jesus, not before

Eze not in the England squad

Agree with every word of this.

Additionally as I may have said on another post, as he doesn’t play for one of the (pass the sickbag) “BIG SIX” he gets little or no coverage, almost as if he doesn’t exist.

F@ck modern football and it’s highly skewed (have you finished with that bag?) “content”…aside from this excellent site of course.

Possibly Dave, but he has a tendency to try and do it all himself rather than a quick , easy pass sometimes. Plus all the rolling around, gobbing off to anyone who dares tackle him and general histrionics to wake the crowd up. I’m in the camp (possibly of one) to see what the team looks like without him skewing the formation and generally trying to do it all.

But accept I’m in a large minority.

Plus I’m very anti-messiah figures (after Stanley there can be no other)

Agree re both esp. Bellingham who is really getting on my wick…proper Jesus complex. I think he’s the main problem in selection terms as he t skews everyone else.

As Clive says we love a Messiah

Hoopsa Interviews Isaac Hayden

Hayden is clearly bottom decile for shutting the f@ck up and below median for talking to official party communication methods.

He is, however top decile for his ability to cook without, er, cooking. But I am loathe to reheat that topic…

Remember the Alfie Lloyd interview? That was nice wasn’t it? - Column
at 09:45 10 Oct 2024

Fantastic writing as ever Alex, thank you. This passage sums it all up for me though and why I remain positive but unconvinced (positively unconvinced maybe?):

“Maybe some of you would’ve just preferred some vitamin D pills and a sun lamp but finally, a plan. Something coherent. Root and branch reviews. Blue sky thinking. World-class basics. Mini retirements. What is the plan? Well, it’s more like an idea. What’s the idea? Well, it’s more like a vibe. What’s the vibe? Well, it’s more like an impression. An impression of what? Well, watch Christian Nourry’s run on the Apprentice later this year and find out.“

Bravo!
