Can someone explain to me why the second Liverpool goal was allowed tonight against Wolves when Salah was clearly offside when the cross came over and yet a possible third Wolves goal was deemed offside. Totally confused.
Also unsure why Wolves third goal was disallowed for offside. He looked onside and they’ve not even shown a replay with the lines to show how it was offside.
My biggest frustration with VAR is the lack of explanation in such situations. We’ve invested time to watch the game and deserve to know why a game changing decision has been made. But we’re treated with contempt instead. Even worse for those in the stadium.
It is being suggested the corner kicker for Wolves was offside as the ball went back to him to cross in again. He was off camera so we couldn't see this.
It could only have been for this second phase rule because Salah was clearly off when the ball was played. The problem here (IMO) is the second phase law is bllx rather than the officials/ VAR not spotting player X was off or on. Its an annoying and unnecessary change to the LotG. PP?
Isn't it because it touched the defender on the way through? If he hadn't touched it, it would have been offside.
Once the defender headed it it became irrelevant that Salah was offside when the cross was delivered (superb finish though ) I have no clue why the Wolves winner did not stand its just bizzare at this stage. I suspect the players are in the dark also to be honest
