Coward, who sneaked around the draft 5 times to avoid being sent to Vietnam (like thousands of other middle class young men, I know), and then refers to dead American soldiers (allegedly, I know) as losers and suckers.

The American people? The oh no not them.
It’s politics, judge them on their performance not what they say. Surely you aren’t new to this?
It's a funny thing though. The Americans can tolerate lots of things but they don't like Presidents who lie.
Take Clinton, they didn't care so much that he had a "meeting" with Monica Lewinsky but they cared a whole lot that he lied about it.Heck if he'd admiited it he'd probably have gone up in their red blooded American estimations!
We all know politicians lie. Come to that, earlier on you were defending Trump, saying things said about him were lies, yet now you are here defending his lies.
So is lying ok or not? Or is it only ok if Trump does it?

I’m not defending any lies, where have you come to that conclusion?
I am making the point that if you are singling Donald Trump out for lying, then you don’t really understand politics and cannot support a single candidate, be that historical or potential. Lying is part of every high profile job with an insatiable media as it isn’t often in the public interest to know the truth, even down to football management you could argue.
There is a difference between that and the media maliciously making false statements to character assassinate someone in order to influence a democratic election. But I’m sure you know that.
A media’s job is to report accurately, it’s a non negotiable in terms of their remit and they should be judged upon that ability alone. A Prime Minister/President’s job is to run the country and be judged on that.

I am finding it laughable that so many leftists blame Trump for the Coronavirus. The media and Democrats were openly stating the coronavirus was a fuss about nothing from February, while Trump suspended travel from Wuhan.
It’s a global pandemic, people die. Hiding away doesn’t make the pandemic go away, it delays the inevitable while the economy crumbles in the meantime causing even more victims of a poor financial predicament.
The key to a pandemic is keeping the economy running whilst keeping hospitals under capacity meaning anyone who needs treatment can get it. He’s done that.

Stephen King is a fiction writer, very apt.

That's bunkum and you know it. Trump refused to acknowledge the level of risk to the public (as did Johnson here) until too late. He caused efforts to be diverted to ineffective treatments. Insisted on using the CDC's flawed diagnostic test. Failed to promote social distancing and wearing of masks. Failed to recognise levels rising again through summer. A failure of leadership shrouded in lies. He fed people lines "will be gone by April", "we are testing more than any other country" , "we have prevented deaths". Top 10 death rate for the world's biggest economy is not a good look.
Trump is no stranger to fiction either is he.

Which part is bunkum? I find it cute you think promoting social distancing is a cause for the pandemic result. It seems to have escaped your attention that hundreds of thousands of people are actively out on the streets every single night causing mass destruction to City’s up and down the country. But yes I’m sure they would have all stopped or at least kept 2 meters apart if Trump promoted it.
Again, it’s a global pandemic. One of the most critical things any Government can do is tread the balance between economic health and hospital capacity, so far America has not tipped the balance either side of those lines and that’s largely to the fantastic economic position Trumps America went into the pandemic with. That’s just a fact.
Ironically they will also probably be one of the first major countries to recover.

What baffles me on this board is if you criticize trump you are a leftie🤔
A good leader should be selfless and have the skill to bring people together, trump is selfish and devisive.
His actions are part of the reason, along with the extremist part of blm, why the good old USA is burning, trump has divided the country, not brought it together.
I hope that he is ousted in november as this world wont be a good place to live if he gets in again.
Btw I'm neither left or right before I get set upon.

Then you would also. know the risk from indoor gatherings are far greater than any outdoors. ANd that masks protect others
Furthermore he failed to place any travel restrictions from anywhere but Wuhan, and not restrictions of US citizens early on. Did better than the UK in that respect at least.
Most projections are not looking very good for the US. University of Washington predicts in excess of 100,000 deaths by January and the very conservative Iowa State Model suggests another 40,000-50,000 deaths by November

It was not Trump who advised people to ignore the pandemic and attend Chinatown (Pelosi), it was not Trump who said go to nightclubs and enjoy yourselves, it was not Trump who told people to go to cinemas (De Blasio). It was not Trump who deliberately sent positive cases to care homes. It was not Trump who supported BLM & Antifa so called peaceful protests. It is not Trump states with the highest Mortality rates. But it is all his fault in your eyes.

Of course it's not all his fault. He has failed as a leader at this time and is far from the only one.
Rumours that Fauci may reveal a few 'interesting facts" too. .
High cases initially in larger connected cities-same as most countries
Oh. and current data all of the Top 10 with highest infection rates voted Trump in 2016

Of course the models will be wrong, but they are a useful indication this is not going away soon and the US, and do we, have a long slog ahead.
Don’t be so daft.
Again, it’s a global pandemic. Your options are to lock down or keep the country ticking over. Nobody can judge a pandemic response until it’s over. To attempt it is lunacy, or a desire to paint a narrative.
The more cases you have in a cluster the quicker the country can recover. I don’t buy into this lockdown nonsense. I have seen first hand the results of a country grinding to a halt and the effects it has on healthy people, both financially and physically.
Yes Trump underestimated the Coronavirus, as did the democrats and nearly every country on the planet. But having 200,000 dead over 1 year and then recovery or 200,000 dead over 3 years then recovery... id pick option 1 every time. The countries locking down and grinding to a halt are going to take longer to recover and will be feeling the effects for decades to come.
We have absolutely no idea how this will play out in any country when it’s all over. Pretending it’s Trumps fault though is hilarious.

Have not said it's his fault. I said he failed in leadership during the pandemic. Again not the only one.
I dislike Trump not because he is a Republican, but because he is liar, bully, cheat and charlatan. I'm not overly keen on Biden either.
Whilst politically I would disagree with Reagan and both George W. and George H.W.Bush I would not say I disliked them. There was a degree of belief and integrity in each of them in differing ways. Trump is just a con man. He cares about money and his family's power. I don't think he gives a stuff about the average American.

Then we disagree. I don’t think America’s response has been bad at all. Too many people are looking too short term as opposed to understanding pandemic response and the critical approach to viewing it.
You may dislike Trump of course, probably not someone I would choose for my best mate either. But the point is that it doesn’t matter, he isn’t asking to be our friends and he probably wouldn’t want to be even if you had a burning desire to be.
ALL politicians in charge of as much responsibility as him are liars, bullies and cheats to some extent, I would argue if they didn’t have those “qualities” then they wouldn’t make very good Presidents, which at the end of the day is all that matters. The way Trump bullied China where previously America was getting bullied by them was a political and trade master class.

"He cares about money and his family's power" Which previous Presidents have donated their Presedential earnings to charities? Which previous Presidents will end their first term with less money than they started with?

You post a bunch of "meta analysis" studies basically all using the same data. What is wrong with meta analysis, no data. The majority of early studies were conducted using HCQ incorrectly, on it's own and too late. It was also used with those patients with far more comorbidities than the control groups and with more in already in ICU. Without that kind of data your meta analysis is just about worthless.

Facts and statistics, you choose the one that shows poor data when used on it's own. Mortality rates show a completely different pictures. As does Cases versus Tests, Louisiana the top one on your list, is 5th highest for Tests/million (including Alaska & District of Columbia which have populations below 1 million)

You still do not understand what a systematic review is. HCQ does not work and in a number of cases there increased mortality and led to complications. Meta-analysis brings together the relevant data meeting entry criteria. These analyses use and include/omit different data. Funny how not one supports the use. Some says it's not clear, More suggest it has no benefit.
If you were a professional research scientist I may be more inclined to put up with your rubbish.
You are constantly posting 'facts' without a proper source which are, in cases, a potential danger to health
And by the way, whilst you continue to slag off scientists and praise medics who treat, you may wish to know of the 23 British winners of the Nobel Prize to Medicine and Physiology only 4 were medically qualified. You are clueless to how modern science works.

You pretty much said judge him by his actions which, to a certain extent I can agree on but he has told some blatant lies and said some really stupid things.
The thing is, it's hard when the media is so obvioulsy biased. Way back in the dim and distant, we used to have newspapers that were more highly regarded because their stores would be true AND they weren't so obviously biased. Telling the truth, it was bad enough or good enough was, well, enough.
Now we have media that seeks to spin, to sensationalise and even worse, to actively try to to sway people's judgement, to swing their opinion in line with what the newspapers owners want. Maybe it was always thus, I wasn't around during those media glory years of truth and impartiality so maybe they are mythical too.
Part of the problem with "anonymous" sources is obviously that thy can make things up but anonymous sources do exist and they want to remain anonymous for good reasons. Take NHS whistleblowers, they wanted anonymity because they knew they would face pressures at work, management do not take the truth getting out very well, when it's bad news anyway. Several lost their jobs, were pressured into leaving or (and this to me is a terribe thing) were paid off, signed NDA's and were sent home with their fistful of dolars. Until these anonymous sources go public they are easy to dismiss. The truth is out there, amongst so many lies. Sometimes though, it's hard to see the wood for the trees.

Well let's take a systematic review that includes the Brazillian study and the Oxford Study and the WHO study on HCQ. Everyone one of them used totally inappropriate overdoses (4 times the safe maximum) of HCQ on it's own and then declared that a) it doesn't work and b) it is dangerous.
All 3 studies were designed to fail when compared to what front line doctors say the way HCQ should be used. Or how about the withdrawn Lancet Study, using made up data? You would rely on those 4 studies to guide you on what medicine to use or not use. If they had done the same with simple old Paracetamol and had given their patients Liver damage they would have been facing law suits. You can laud systemic analysis as much as you like, but garbage in = garbage out just like any other model. If you don't know garbage is going in you are being totally fooled.
I may not know as much as you about "modern science" but I do know how much corruption, bad statistics and cheating & lying goes on, especially in the medical research area. It has even brought your beloved "peer review" in to disrepute There has been plenty about it in the press over the years.
