Play Away Day I Spy At Aston Villa With The Ugly Inside Friday, 6th Dec 2024 10:00 Southampton fans of a certain age will remember the I Spy books which helped wile away the hours during boring car or train journeys, now we at The Ugly Inside are rolling back the years so a younger generation can enjoy the trip to Aston Villa. I Spy books were very simple, they were based on the old children's game "I spy with my little eye something beginning with ...." Each book gave a list of things that children had to look out for and then tick off on the list, usually everyday things like telephone boxes (Ask your parents) post boxes, church steeples, bus stops, etc. Now for those travelling to Villa Park on Saturday we have made our own version of the game so that there is a chance that you might get some enjoyment from the trip, indeed those at home might like to join in, anyway here we go print this list off and tick off as many of the things that you can. Some will be easier to spot than others and indeed some may not be spotted at all, so with that in mind, anyone who manages to tick off all of the categories will go in a draw and win a day out at AFC Totton V Sholing on Saturday 22nd December. Terms & conditions will apply & evidence will need to be provided. So here we go. * A Saints supporter at 8am on Central station who tells you that he knew Russell Martin was a one trick pony 2 years ago, * Gang of six 20 year old males on the 8am Cross Country service to Birmingham New Street who start cracking open the beer before the train has gone through the tunnel. * A toilet on the 8am Cross Country service that is not overflowing by Reading. * A gang of 60 year old males on the 8am Cross Country service drinking tea before arguing whose round it is in Wetherspoons. * A car load of Saints fans in a layby on the A34 just north of Oxford going to the toilet en masse. * One of "Nick's Saints Away Travel coaches * A mini bus load of Saints supporters buying Double sausage & egg McMuffin's at a service station whilst simultaneously finishing off a can of lager. * A Saints supporter not gnashing his teeth at 1.45pm when the team is announced. * A mobile burger stall being shut down by Birmingham Council's hygiene department. * A Police horse * Jack Stephens * A Saints fan who is telling all & sundry this is the worst team he has ever seen. * A Saints supporter who is telling an ambulance man that Russell Martin is a great manager and will lead the club to glory whilst being treated for Psychosis. * A Saints defender clearing the ball from his own penalty area under pressure. * Joe Lumley/Alex McCarthy catching the ball and then waving their defenders upfield before punting the ball forward. * A Saints defender who is seemingly making his debut but who looks uncannily like Jack Stephens with a false beard. * Tyler Dibling's shin pads * A Saints supporter with 3 Manning on the back of his shirt * Russell Martin screaming at the 4th official * A scoreboard saying 0-0 at half time * Anyone of the following, Charlie Taylor, Juan Larios, Ross Stewart. * A scoreboard that starts with 0 at the final whistle. * Celebrating Saints supporters * The first Russell Martin Out banner * Russell Martin holding his hands up in the post match interview & saying he got his tactics all wrong. * Russell Martin saying "We missed Jack today" * A sober Saints supporter on the 7.45pm Birmingham New Street to Southampton train * A Saints supporter NOT frothing at the mouth after Russell Martin's post match comments. * That die hard Saints supporter Lucy Pinder doing a Dolly Parton impression & standing by her man. * A song being sung that wasn't invented by Liverpool fans 10 years go.
