What I like Dave is the profile of our fans - Whilst Chelsea is rammed with corporate and tourists when I look around Loftus Road whilst there are still plenty like me 55+ there is also a great young section (18 -25 year olds) coming through - I think the safe standing has also helped here.
Clive mentioned in one of his articles about the increase of Mums & Dads with Sons and Daughters which also seems to be on the rise.
Just watched Clive's pick from the Sheff Wed game back in 1988 - I was one of the hardy souls in a crowd of just over 8K - I also remember days in the early Premier League when we still struggled to get over 13k.
Isn't it great despite our recent troubles on the pitch to see Loftus Road packed to the rafters and a whole new generation of fans coming through the ranks.
Our fanbase certainly seems to have grown in recent seasons and it looks like giving the lower school end to home fans with cheaper tickets will help this trend continue.
Incredible and thank you Clive - How the hell you keep producing time after time these wonderful previews and match reports is beyond me.
I have read this match report three times and keep finding these wonderful golden nuggets buried in the copy that bring a wry smile to this cold, rainy January morning.
I said I would be happy with 2 points from our road trip so get the maximum is just ridiculous and so not QPR.
Buzzing for Saturday - Full house and 3.00pm kick off.
It said a hip injury on the QPR Twitter feed. Hope it's nothing to serious and that it was lost a little in translation on Marti's post match interview.
The win at Plymouth makes this a bit of a free hit for me (I think we will beat Sheff Wed Saturday).
However the travelling may just catch up with us and I predict a 1 V 0 Hull win although I wouldn't be surprised to see us pinch a point or even all three.
So basically it could be anything for me tonight. I'm looking forward to watching on the red button.
Safe travels to everyone heading to Humberside - No trains back so presume everyone is doing the 4 hours each way drive. Bloody Marvelous the lot of you!!
Seems to be playing himself back into form - 2 assists in his last 2 games and Palace back on the up. The assist on Saturday was sublime, perfect weight of pass with his weaker foot.
Surely a Man Utd or Spurs will be thinking of activating his release clause this month.
Would be bloody helpful in securing a new contract for our Jimmy.
Thank you Clive - Another enjoyable read to ease myself into the week ahead.
I was pleased to see Edwards put in a decent performance after his poor show at Leicester the previous week. With Cook and Morrison back on the grass that hole in the middle of our defence looks to be fully plugged going forward.
I watched on TV and a massive shout out to the travelling fans - Sold out away end in Devon for a 12.30pm kick off in mid January is truly amazing. The photo on your Twitter feed captures the delight perfectly.
I still find it incredible our recovery from the end of November - For the first time in what seems like years I am no longer checking the other results of the teams round us which seems to have also improved my health and lowered my blood pressure.
I would spend the £15M on the next phase of upgrading the training centre. That is the lifeblood of the club.
Don’t go mad on silly transfers that’s what we did last time. In the likely event of relegation we would be in a much better position to go back up with the club having a strong financial backbone for the first time in a generation.
As far as I am aware it is I don't think the police would want that shut down. - However I've not been since Nahki Wells got the winner a few years ago.
Just got our tickets - I've never had a problem going it's very well policed and with the cage that goes straight to the away end at South Bermondsey you hardly even see a Millwall fan.
I hope we sort his contract and he stays - As I say he influences and changes games which is a major natural talent and benefit - With good coaching he could really develop into a fine player. Same with Alfie Lloyd I would rather see these two more in the second half of the season progress than getting a 4th/5th choice Premier League striker on loan.
Kolli has that wonderful knack of influencing and changing games. We need to see more of him in the number 9 position.
Am I right in thinking that is his natural position and he spent a lot of time playing that role in the youth and development teams.
I am old enough to remember Allen and Goddard coming through the ranks could Kolli and Lloyd be the 2025/26 version. If we get another striker in the window that will only hinder and block their progress.
I really thought the game would have to be paused - I certainly could see no action on the far side of the field for circa 40% of the game. It got better for the last 20 minutes.
Thank you Clive - Spot on report which was well balanced on the team sheet selection topic.
I was okay when I saw the starting eleven as you say it wasn't development players but first team players who could of made a big statement to the manager with their performance - Unfortunately none of them took that opportunity.
I was particularly disappointed with Edwards as I was very much looking forward to watching him play. Lacks pace and aggression and looked poor in the air just watch him for their first goal. I know he hasn't played much football and hopefully he will improve considerably in the weeks ahead as we will need him as Dunne will need to go back to Right Back.
And as for Madsen again a big chance for him but after six months with us I could see no improvement from the beginning of the season.
Big shout out to travelling fans who were magnificent again - A pleasure to be amongst you.
Finally that was my first visit to the King Power Stadium, another soulless bowl lacking any atmosphere and character - I remember watching us at Filbert Street all those years ago which had both in abundance.
Makes you appreciate how lucky we are to still have Loftus Road.
