Effect on Team Form - Momentum Changer !!
at 18:23 12 Jan 2025

Answering my own question starting this thread -

I don't think this will have any impact on our league form.

We found out yet again, Ashby can take too many risks, and Madsen strangely isn't able to perform for ourselves. I had hoped eventually he would have a decent game here and there but sadly I think his goose has been well and truly cooked. Think we should try to either sell him or more likely loan him out now.

But prem relegation teams to mid table championship, the gap is huge.

I never like to pick out players and from all I hear about the man's character is that he is a decent human being, and I had hoped he could settle and show something,

Celar likewise. Scored a brace then next game was markedly improved.

It's just not happening and this could be one of those signings we just have to write off. Would love to be proved wrong but unfortunately I cannot see this to be the case

Effect on Team Form - Momentum Changer !!
at 16:55 11 Jan 2025

Conceding six is depressing !!

Will it effect our decent recent league form...

Any squad that let's in six goals will be reeling...

They had much nearer to their full first eleven starting than than ourselves.
I will be so angry if this effects our momentum in the league....

Anyone think we can maintain our form in the league or does this setback have the potential to start a mini slump...

Come to the conclusion that this knock out competition should be banned !!!

God, I hate the fricking FA Cup !!!!!

Tbf although no chance Cifuentes was ever going to be picked up by Everton, I personally would prefer Cifuentes over Moyes if i was an Everton fan.

Moyes has been a decent Premiership manager, but he is yesterday's man.

Crikey the Leicester podcasters are a tad dull !!

After seeing that sense of tedium from these two, I am confident of a result.

Leicester 0 QPR 3 Saito, Lloyd and Clarke Salter with the goals !!

Poor bugger and for his family too.

There is a local charity to myself called young people with dementia and some people get this horrific disease in their 30s and 40s, but it isn't a killer and some people can remain physically well for a normal lifespan so it's so challenging for the family and friends that have to see their mate, partner, relative be this person who they are not.

Best wishes to all of them !!

I was very surprised by the stats after the Luton game which suggested it was a very decent, but very even game.

I had QPR ahead in most areas and a four to one win, would not have been surprising.

First there was:

Paal down the left for Morgan to run onto and Frey to put away a low cross.

Then there was:

Paal horizontal pass across to Chair to stirke and we all know most of Ilias Shots go 35 yards wide so we then place our Fox in the Box to Scorpion back heel the ball at two miles an hour into the opposite corner.

What will are set piece coaches think of next ???

I won't co sponsor this cup run this time Connell as we only got through three rounds in the Carabao Cup.

It's all on yourself.

A visit to Wembley is required !!!

Love the thread title.

"Jimmy Hill and the Blackburn Ballgirl !"

As someone said there, at first glance, seems to be implicating, the one with the extremely long chin, in the "ME TOO" campaign.

Or it's a headline in one of the dodgy tabloids...

New goalie for development squad
at 06:06 9 Jan 2025

We are the first club in the football league to have a goalkeeping academy.

Half of them continually get loaned out to higher and higher rated clubs and then we sell them all to La Liga, Serie A, the Bundesliga and the ones that are the flops can go to Chelsea on 8 year contracts.

It worked on football manager, so there we go, job done !!!

Or perhaps the other plan, is to cover potential injuries, as we once had seven goalkeepers in one season, so we are now fully covered, if things go Pete Tong !!!

Either way, it's genius !!!

Something happened 2000 years ago that I believe is why we have this festive season just past.

Perhaps the new messiah is here and his name is Marti !!!!

Seems like a decent man. Was i understand extremely helpful for Jimmy Dunne during his sad recent loss and is likeable within the squad, which is one bar up from Taylor Richards and obviously he is fit and healthy and attends all training sessions etc which again Mr Richards seems to not have been able to do.

But appreciate we would all wish that he could grow into the team and squad like a few others have. If he could succeed clearly that's what we all want for him too.

For me Madsen, Celar and Anderson are the three players that haven't quite cut the mustard so far.

Madsen has scored a very decent penalty and was supporting Frey up top when he scored from open play in the away game against Luton. And he has offered a few intelligent passes and flicks but agree with others that currently it doesn't seem like there is enough physicality and visibility in games to succeed here.

No way can I compare him with Dozzell as yet. Dozell went missing for about three or four seasons and he seemed to be a permanent first teamer then.

We have so many other options even accounting for a few out injured too.

I can't completely say I have given up on him. Maybe a few ten minute cameos, he can create and have more impact under less pressure. If anyone can get out of form players contributing it's Marti, but yes it's certainly not really been happening as of yet.

Was that when we played on the plastic pitch

Was a MASSIVE advantage for ourselves. Could be unbeaten at home all season.

Others could not cope with the wildly erratic bounce.

We were obviously training on it to learn how to best play on it.
