Likely he will be a £100 million player

Seriously !!!

If he has only played 44 games and also only at championship level and he is 18.

He might be focused now but whose to say in a couple of seasons he goes off the rails and there have been many many players who have been capped at every age level and disappeared off the radar for a whole variety of reasons. Not been in an England squad as many have not. And many get capped at every age level and never make the grade when they big boys.

Dele Ali springs to mind but he had started in the Premier league.

Performing at a relatively decent level in the championship for a season is no chance a guaranteed £100 million player..

Stupidity i would say

Eight Ilias Chairs qualIty type players for four seasons as to one potential season but for an untested and not guaranteed real deal for just one player and priced highly because he is a teenager.
THATS EIGHT PLAYERS OF QUALITY FOR FOUR SEASONS as against ONE PLAYER WHO IS A YOUNG BOY WHO ONLY HAS 44 championship games experience...

Are you an agent by any chance. You not got my money sire !!!

We will chat about this in a couple of years time. Money down the drain

If we had Eight chair type quality players we would easily get promoted

Remind me to quote for your new bathroom.

Think you could well be one of those clients that pays over the odds !!!!!! 🤣

I don't know much about him as a young player but why if he is worth around £40 million, why if we are realistic why could we only really expect £5million for Chair..

We ran rings round that team of underachievers last term !!

If anyone cam explain valuations of players to me, would like to know.

A player that has performed for several seasons as against a prospect with little experience

Worth 8 ilias chairs !!!

I know he has court case hanging over him but is it because Leeds are a big name of many years and also they ripping off a club who have had premier league funding for several seasons !!!@

England v Slovakia last 16 Match Thread

What I was saying about our fans only accepting winning in the final as acceptable for England under Southgate, I believe is totally valid.

If we lose in the final, our fans will be on Southgates back as general belief is that we have a generational talent throughout the attacking elements of our team and any success is on the players and with Southgate all reasons for failure are put totally on Southgate.

The current belief is if we are ever going to win a tournament that time is now

Southgate got no credit for reaching the semis of the World Cup and got even less credit for reaching the final in the Euros and only losing out on penalties.

We have reached the quarter yet again under him and all Sourhgate ever gets is criticism.

But in terms of where we have got to in tournaments is in the advanced stages always under him

Most other England managers, we didn't qualify from the group stages on occasions or we didn't qualify for the tournament stages at all.

But I have followed England throughout my life. Probably first one I knew much about was 1982 but we always expect to get to the final stages in recent times and the fans always think our players are super heroes and the country as a whole does always expect us to do very well and in nearly all circumstances, we massively underachieve!!

Whether it's Owen, Rooney, Beckham, Scholes, Gerrard, Lampard, Gascoigne, Shearer, Waddle, Barnes, Lineker, Keegan, Robson, Wilkins, Hoddle.

Or Bellingham, Kane, Saka, Foden.

Think it's fair to say we do all think pre tournaments we expect success, given the players we have. Think that is always true and I think some younger players do completely freeze, understandably under the burden of expectation. Very different to pressures performing at club level.

I am not a fan of defensive football but whatever Southgates faults are such as predictable and dull on occasions, we do always somehow achieve and whether he is the luckiest manager alive or not.

And whatever is said pre tournament, we do always expect and can't see that has ever been any different. Ie we as a general fanbase for England always rate our players and our team way above what we achieve.

England in tournament football is a hard watch.

But whatever people think

World Cup 2018 Semi Finals
Euros 2020 Final
World Cup 2022 Quarter Finals
Euros 2024 Quarter Finals (Minimum)

Better than

Hodgson
Allardyce
Mclaren
Capello
Erickson
Keegan
Taylor
Greenwood
Revie

Only ones felt done better

Venables
Ramsey

Similar to

Robson

My view about England, it's the fans that have ALWAYS been the PROBLEM

We expect to win every tournament playing stunning football

We have the premier league where we watch some amazing football but this is over 40 odd games and the players all know each other's styles well and play with all fantastic players.

What other countries have done better than this, but we always expect incredible football and to win the tournament.

The ENGLAND FANS are and always have been the problem.

We are not going to win this tournament but if we do and everyone not happy with the style, Southgate will still get the CRAP

Absolute joke are England fans

For craps sake - maybe fans could consider the pressure these fans put on these young men and their manager has always meant our players have always crumbled under the pressure.

Support your country, your players and your manager.

England fans always have been an embarrassment

BIden v Trump - and we thought our options were poor !!
at 19:06 29 Jun 2024

I started this thread Orthodox

We have always had a varied list of topics debated on here.

Music, other sports and general affairs etc.

And general posts when someone famous passes away etc.

Yes there is one on our general election and when covid was at its height, and zero football happening, there was some very frank exchanges going ahead.

We all follow our team but there is life outside of QPR and some of it, from my perspective, I enjoy debating about all sorts of other issues.

If some people get out of hand with sometimes some inappropriate bashing of other forum members, I think that's when some of these discussions would be challenging.

If we all remain respectful of others when stating our own personal views, I feel it's all OK but if not, I stand corrected..

Yes but with the point you make, 33% thought Biden won this particular debate - how can people legitimately believe this is so. The world is currently on a very narrow knife edge, no doubt.

Has anyone seen the "Car Crash" performance of Joe Biden in his live TV debate v Trump.

Many times, he lost his train of thought. Often, he was.out of breath and many times he wasn't focusing.

This man is the so called leader of the developed world.

And he is going to get trounced, big time by Donald Trump, who could be beaten quite easily by a mediocre politician.

I really can't see how Americans can feel about their leaders in anyway that is positive whatsoever.

But this debate was shocking.

Having a giggle

Question - has Gareth Southgate ever had the experience of a fit of the giggles.

Has he ever done anything so childish, that he has completely convulsed with the most humongous belly laugh that has drowned out the sound of his mates, saying good one gaz, me old mucker !!!!!!!!!!!!

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

How many people on here, would do the same.

If I personally was on £10k a week and that's guaranteed income for 4 years and I remember what I was like at the age of 22. I was an idiot.

I would have thought I am set for life here and I can perform or I can do nowt and still get the dosh, how many on here can honestly say in that situation, they potentially would do how Taylor is doing.

Myself personally at that age, even if I had the talent like Richards does seem to have, I would be nerve ridden attempting to play on front of 20k crowds every time I stepped on the pitch so I would say I would have done the same. Honest assessment.

I never had that talent and assuming most on here don't but at 22 and with these kind of wages, it's inevitable this can happen

We literally experienced this regularly with players that came here regularly for an expensive early retirement- look at Wright Phillips- these people were worse.

People are throwing around mental health and if that's so and we don't know either way that's a tough gig. I work in this field these days and experienced it myself as has my partner and several friends of mine.

The rules around mental health and employment are complex. Perhaps in a small organisation, employers can engineer people out the door but the football world is very public and no chances to do that.

Whatever it is either way, it's a waste and sad but no more than that.

Every employer on earth makes mistakes with recruitment.

But some realism around the fact is we just don't know and best leave it there I feel.

Supposedly the most advanced nation in the world had a debate for their most important job in their country and they had the choice between an old man that couldn't remember his own name to another old man that's a nasty bully with a conviction to his name and many more personal legal cases to fight still to face.

Think it's time to leave this one simply because we will never know what's the truth.

The love for Robson seriously has only grown in the years after.

Bobby got pelters almost as often as Southgate has.

1986. We lost to Portugal who had only ever qualified for a tournament once before and drew with Morrocco nil nil and Super Ray sent off too. Bryan Robson injured too.

And it was only then that we improved but even though the cheat goal by Diego, they deserved that win.

1988. Was a shambles. Zero points at the group stage.

1990. Again change of team due to Bryan Robson injured again. And Gascoigne and Platt combo we greatly improved .We played brilliantly in the semi final but that was it

And only then did Bobby Robson get credit but he also had a generational talent who was at the heights of his powers.

Time has improved the love for Bobby but he was hated pretty regularly during his career to be fair.

Southgate. Yes he is defensive. Yes it's a strange tactic co sidering all our quality is in attack.

But we get through every time. We progress and we do achieve.

In finishing terms he is the second most successful England Manager ever but yes the ways to get there so far has been incredibly dull.

When we met Italy at Wembley in the final was a massive let down. Not because we lost but there was zero passion, zero flair and zero evidence that we were a decent team.

I don't like the dullness of Southgate but he has been effective and there have been many many managers that have played worse and with worse results also. Graham Taylor, Steve Mclaren, Sven Goran Ericsson and Fabio Capello to name a few and even Big Sam unless he had not been on the take..

He doesn't deserve the hate

But others comparing him unfavourably against Bobby Robson have allowed the passing of time to cloud their own memory banks.

Say it wasn't so !!!!

Isn't Mr Willock a devout Christian boy.

Didnt know going for the "brief holiday romance" thing is allowed in the world of Jesus.

Anyhow being turned down and women turning their noses up at him in a dodgy Spanish resort bar, finally I have something in common with one of our qpr footballing role models !!!!!

I am available Marti !!!

Aspirational

Nice life.

At least 5k a week for the last four or five years and another two more years.

Blokes a millionaire.

Won't get any grief from the fans a la Taylor Richards as he simply won't get in the team if he is a definite number two.

Few weeks in the Caribbean during his career.

Then 35 years old, made for life, could do what he wants in life.

Bloke must be laughing in his extremely large hot tub every night of his life !!!

Well done Jordan.

Got it made son !!
