| Forum Reply | Draws are next to useless at 23:35 1 Oct 2017
If I dare? Rest assured I really have got better things to do with my life than trawl back through the forum to find 8 years worth of your "I've said it now, I'm right, your wrong, so there" arrogant utterances. Perhaps someone else can be bothered to count them all up, I certainly can't. |

You've got to laugh at the irony of d'alien calling for a balanced view! I've heard everything now! |

Well said, absolutely spot on re. the underlying issue identified. Will anything change though? I doubt it as its been going on for years. In my view the original poster is more right than wrong. Draws aren't exactly next to useless for building confidence but they're most definitely overrated for the mathematical reasons he pointed out. The counter argument that you compensate by winning home games doesn't work because obviously that doesn't happen most of the time. What's really irritating is not actually the draw itself but the manager actively playing for draws. Hill never used to be about that but it seems he is moving more that way now. |

Actually there's various good reasons why Rowett was sacked - the main ones being that he was hawking himself for every Championship job going (at least 4 in 4 months), refusing to commit beyond a rolling 12 month contract, and the team he produced were desperately dull to watch. |

Not the first word I'd personally use about that article! Interesting to see the buried line about the influence of the ghost writer - its turning into a spat between journalists as well. |

Anyone still interested in this ongoing spat can see the latest developments between Trott and Vaughan in the Daily Mirror today. This is after the extract published from Trott's autobiography in the TImes about Vaughan's alleged vested interests... |

I'd think he'd completely lost the plot - he's at least 3 years past his sell by date. We'd be far better off taking a punt on someone like Matt Green - very prolific at Mansfield a couple of years back, got a move to Birmingham and had a reasonable start. Then out injured for whole season but apparently back to fitness now. |

Yes, there's a bit of a pattern emerging here. Bottom line is Hill is all about ball retention - Dale history is starting to suggest that anyone whose game is even partiallly based on greater risk taking and trying to beat a player is pretty much doomed to fail really. Unfortunately he's turning into a far more cautious manager than once appeared to be the case. Good luck to Bastien wherever he goes, I really hope he gets a much fairer crack of the whip than he's had at Dale. |
| Forum Reply | Camps miss at 22:24 28 Apr 2015
Yes the FLS highlights at just over a minute (why?) didn't really do justice to a great game. Also disappointing that they didn't show that wonder save from the deflected Hendo cross in the last minute that would have made it 3-3. |

Agree. Feel equally irritated having devoted 11 hours of my day yesterday to trains, trams and a pretty hapless performance, especially from the manager with his nonsensical team selections and substitutions. Will definitely be giving Notts County a miss even though its quite near for me, can't be bothered. |
| Forum Reply | Square pegs in round holes at 22:21 14 Mar 2015
Agreed, those substitutions were inept - especially sticking Lancashire at right back, I don't even think Hill was kidding when he said he forgot we were losing 1-0. I think there's a few harsh comments about Bunney flying around, he was considerably more of a threat than Brandy! Also, what on earth is the point of even having Hery and RNL on the bench if you're never going to put them on, even when we're 1-0 down and chasing the game against a stubborn, well organised team? What are they, Plan Y or Plan Z? Please please lets never see that last 25 minutes personnel/formation again, it was dreadful. |

And very suspect from hopeful punted free-kicks as well. The way he stayed rooted to his line instead of making a regulation catch, allowing O'Connell to sneak in at the far post for our first against Preston hardly inspires great confidence. |
| Forum Reply | The Parisian at 11:30 22 Feb 2015
Yes, and wouldn't in be good if Hill was also prepared to 'risk' Hery in away fixtures. Great to see him finally getting some long overdue time on the pitch again, but fully expect him to be typecast now as a player who doesn't travel well. |
| Forum Reply | Abuse for the Walsall ball boy near the end of the match at 17:59 11 Feb 2015
Great reply. Actually, getting a grip is what the FA needs to do on the whole issue of time wasting - too many teams are getting away with it, refs seem to allow 5 blatant offences before getting on the case of the team protecting their lead. |
| Forum Thread | Abuse for the Walsall ball boy near the end of the match at 17:42 11 Feb 2015
Some pretty unacceptable scenes at the end last night from certain Dale fans - slating the Walsall ball boy for time wasting when of course he was only acting under instruction from their keeper O'Donnell - who should have got 100 per cent of any abuse going . I know that the boy was affected by comments suggesting they were going to find out where he lived etc - not very big and clever really. |
| Forum Reply | Bastien Hery loves Rochdale.. at 14:18 8 Feb 2015
Yes it came from an interview he gave to a French football magazine - there's been a link to it from Hery's Facebook for at least a week. I think Hery's Dale history is being re-written here, far more often than not he's been highly effective, and on the occasions he's not I would guess his confidence has been affected by his treatment this season. Unfortunately it's never going to happen for Hery at Dale now so he should leave, but I still think its a big wasted opportunity, we all know what a player he can be with his confidence up. |

Lets just hope it gets shown on TV to really embarrass him. The Coventry fans are laughing about it on their forum. |

Yes, a good spot - his "forthright" posting probably stifles many a good Dale debate. Cue an aggressive reply... |
