The Under 18's are at home against Crewe on Wednesday. It promises to be a very good game, hopefully with a decent crowd. |
| Forum Thread | Hills post match comments at 10:14 11 Apr 2013
Very in depth interview with Hilly on Dale World. He is pleased with the progress we are making, and says that the players are buying into what he wants. Special praise last night from Hilly for Cavanagh and also George D. "Players like to be liked". There are not too many terrorists at the club, but they are always ready to "shoe bomb" us . Not sure if he meant players, staff , Directors or supporters. I guess that he knew exactly what he meant, and kept it cryptic to keep people on their toes. Regarding his contract negotiations, he states quite clearly that he does want to stay, and that negotiations are ongoing. Wants to sort it out but only with the Chairman who is away on business often (although he was there last night). |
| Forum Thread | Saturday Club at 07:14 6 Mar 2013
I have just seen the item on the Saturday Club for kids, which I honestly didn't know we still did. Apparently, we have been running this for years. This is surely a fantastic offer for kids, and I'm surprised the club doesn't push it more. With a decent bit of advertising, it should be full every home game, helping to build the next generation of Dale fans. |
| Forum Thread | Ashton United game tonight 7.30 at 11:02 13 Aug 2012
I seem to remember this being advertised on the Ashton site, but I can't find anything at all about it on our O/S. We requested that it was moved forward to tonight, and we are supposed to be fielding our first team squad. Is the game going ahead or has it been cancelled? Thanks for any info... wouldn't mind going if it's on. |
| Forum Thread | Grimes at 18:34 12 Nov 2011
Anyone else see his nasty kick on one of their players well after the ball had gone? Red card if the ref saw it. Fortunately for Grimes; he didn't. Don't want players like that representing MY club. He should be fined at least. |
| Forum Thread | Stephen Bywater signs 3 month loan at 12:51 20 Sep 2011
With Sheffield Wednesday. That's 14 players they have signed since Summer. Almost as many as Charlton...but not quite. Just shows the gulf in spending potential that exists in L1. |

Just wanted to say a big thankyou to everyone on here who came to my 50th birthday "bash" last night. I'm amazed that so many turned up...hopefully everyone had as much fun as I did. You all did me proud. Up the Dale!!! |
| Forum Thread | Collective noun for buckets? at 15:59 25 Apr 2011
Anyone know what you call a group of buckets? How about a dribble!? Anyhow... If they win today, we may well see one on here later. |
| Forum Thread | Fantastic game tonight. at 22:12 29 Mar 2011
A superb advert for everything Hilly and Flickers stand for tonight, against a very enterprising Charlton team. First half, we passed the ball superbly, spreading play all over the pitch, and to be honest, we looked a class above them, with only a superb JK strike to show for our play. Second half, the game opened up and fair play to Charlton; they came at us in numbers, which of course left more space for us to run into. On another night there could have been goals a plenty at both ends, but overall, we thoroughly deserved our win. Four in a row; all with clean sheets. Superb stuff Dale....Superb!!! Every single Dale player played well... it's a shame to single anyone out really, but I was especially pleased with the performances of the defenders, who time after time made timely blocks, and when beaten, OFW was in top form. Roll on Saturday... tell everyone you know to get down and support the lads. Up the Dale!!! |

I thought we were playing at Huddersfield tomorrow. There is nothing at all on the O/S. Whats going on ??? |
| Forum Thread | Very serious news I'm afraid at 17:04 24 Feb 2011
Forget all the bickering about the pitch, Hornets, lack of communication etc. It is with deep sorrow that I have to announce the demise of... bury's geet big scoreboard. It appears that the scoreboard (which was bought second hand from Leicester City in 1991) is so broken and generally knackered that the club has decided to retire it from service. Also, it's becoming uneconomical to replace the bulbs...each one takes at least two sponsored walks to Accy to buy according to a Mr Eaves, who helps purchase things for bury from time to time. No doubt Rob (avec black armband and broken pint-pot) will be along shortly to pay his own tribute to the famous old scoreboard, which will soon take its place alongside the famous old boys stand and the garden shed executive facilities which now lie gathering dust somewhere under the famous old wooden stand. A moments silence please. "This famous old shytehole". John Motson: 2011. |

I'm often quick to criticise the O/S when it is poor, but just thought it only fair to mention the excellent way in which they have updated supporters about tonights game. Three weather announcements plus a preview spread over the week, including one this morning, which is optimistic about the game taking place. Well done to those responsible. It wasn't that hard to do now; was it. |
| Forum Thread | Is the Carlisle game off? at 09:44 22 Nov 2010
There is nothing at all about tomorrows game on the O/S. Or if there is, I can't find it. No doubt someone will now put something up about it, but the game is tomorrow, and should have been publicised since last week, especially given that Carlisle usually offer discounted tickets to away fans if bought in advance. Basic stuff really. Edit: Just found the ticket information. However, point remains....there is no preview, team news etc. [Post edited 1 Jan 1970 1:00]

| Forum Thread | We've never beaten Swindon at 16:41 19 Nov 2010
Another of the lengthy (but steadily shrinking) number of teams against whom we have not managed a win. Will we rise to the occasion and show a little "no fear"? or will it be pass pass pass whoops!!! Lets hope for the former, and a much needed 3 points tomorrow...although I would be quite happy with a point. |
| Forum Thread | RIP Sir Cyril Smith at 13:58 3 Sep 2010
Sir Cyril Smith has died aged 82. Despite his many critics, he did more for Rochdale than most people knew, and will be sadly missed. RIP. |
