He has died aged just 69. RIP. |

All of them are irrelevant to be now so I switch off when they speak. And they will hopefully be in the wilderness for at least two terms. Happy days. |

You make some fair points Dr W. Your second para suggests that you know a lot more than,it seems, other posters on this thread. Certainly me anyway. Earlier you said 'I'm a Republican. I think it's absurd in the 21st Century that anyone can be deemed "better" by accident of birth, but the lack of understanding of what this money is and where it goes is crazy.' So why don't you educate us ? And I mean that in an honest way. I'd like to know. And you let yourself down with your first and last paras. If people don't agree with you or don't understand something why don't you explain/persuade rather than insult ? |

I don't know if you're confusing this with the fact that the Duke of Beaufort 'owns' the Tawe river bed and our council had to pay him £320,000 just for permission to build the new bridge over it when the stadium was being built. Another example of the absolutely corrupt way the UK is being run. |

I've read many times about the fact that the crown estates 'own' (?) the seabed around the UK. I never understood how that worked until now. I've read today that Gwynedd Council has to pay the crown estates £161,000 a year in order for it's residents to have access to their beaches and other seafront facilities. And if Gwynedd has to pay then so do all other Welsh councils including ours. So we have to pay the spongers so we can walk on OUR own beaches. It's like living in medieval Britain, it really is. It is part of a corrupt system that should be binned now along with the royals. |

I just switch off whenever one of them starts to speak. I'm amazed that they're not too embarrassed to spout the stupid things they say. Jenrick for example - 'the answer to the prison population problem is to build more prisons.' The Conservatives have just been in Government for 14 years, did nothing about the problem and he says that. They'll probably come out with similar stupid answers to questions about the NHS, the CPS, the Care system, schools etc and the recruitment of staff for all those services. Skins like rhinos. |

'he had ample opportunities in the first half where he had acres of space and he refused time and again to take on his man.' I was baffled by that as well. |

One question will do for me. Steve Cooper is the best example having taken us to the play offs and play off final in two seasons. That proved what a good manager he was and showed that with some backing he could have gone one step further the following season. So my question would be, why do you have no faith in your own decisions ? |

FYI, my comment in the Bristol airport thread. How much would that 250 million be reduced by if things were to change. ********************************* FYI. 'At £13, APD is the highest aviation tax in Europe and represents a large part of the air fare, particularly since low cost airlines account for most capacity at Cardiff. As a consequence, the airport has failed to prosper and has lost out to other, cheaper airports in competition for new capacity.' 'Here are some of the concerns Bristol Airport has raised: Job and investment losses Bristol Airport has warned that devolution of APD powers to Wales could negatively impact jobs and investment in the south-west of England. Passenger diversion Bristol Airport has claimed that if APD is scrapped in Wales, more than a million passengers a year could fly from Cardiff Airport instead. The UK Government has resisted calls to reduce APD in Wales, saying that it would negatively impact Bristol Airport.' Part of the wording of the Lib dems election manifesto. 'Devolving Air Passenger Duty to put Wales on a fair playing field with Scotland and Northern Ireland and put Cardiff Airport on a fair playing field with regional airports in England' Logically, if a million more people flew from Cardiff then any subsidy could be massively reduced. You have to wonder why the success of the only real International Airport in Wales is being deliberately held back by the Westminster Government. |

Flew to Majorca on 30/08 and back on 13/09. Excellent both ways. Flights may have been cheaper from Bristol or elsewhere but I didn't check. The ease of use (parked up in an hour) is worth the extra cost, to me at least. |

Footfall will get another huge extra boost when the Hub (old BHS) is opened along with 71/72 The Kingsway and the redevelopment of the old Woolies in Oxford Street. |

How do you know if they are going to go after the offshore accounts and big business profits ? The answer is you don't. Why not wait and see what they do in the budget. |

That is just normal. If you have a pay rise you pay more tax. Who is in government is irrelevant. |
