We've already been owned by a Chinaman and a Swiss German. We're currently owned by a Serbian , so for me I couldn't care less who owns us as long as they are not criminals or gangsters. |

We're on 11 points Nick ffs! I can accept relegation but this is historically the worst ever points total in our history and currently equalling the worst ever in Premier league history. |

It always felt like we'd eventually buckle under the pressure. The quality between the two sides was massive. Didn't think Rusk got the subs right this time. Bree adds nothing but if we'd brought Aribo on and pushed him forward he would at least offered an out ball. Neither Stewart and certainly not Archer could do this very well. Someone else pointed out to me that Fulham were in the Championship when these Clowns took charge of out club. Its amazing how far we've dropped off in the required standards whilst Fulhams owners clearly understood what's required to compete at this level. |
 | Forum Reply | Cameron Archer's inability to press at 08:24 27 Apr 2025
I thought we paid 18m for him. Yesterday highlighted that for Onuchu's lack of stamina, mobility and at times clumsiness , he's still the only striker that causes defenders problems. |

Ross Stewart is possibly the worst striker I've ever seen play for Saints. I'm pleased for him personally that he's recovering from his injuries but honestly my God he's woeful. Literally wins nothing in the air , no pace and terrible first touch. Archer is nearly as bad. . |

Please please please Sports Republic, get another goalkeeper...or play McCarthy as a last resort. Why we never brought Johannson from Rotherham last season when it was obvious the guy was a top class Championship keeper at a bare minimum. Stoke signed him for about a million I believe. This season he's been their player of the season and just behind Trafford in performance stats. |

Nick , you keep saying Armstrong was our top scorers when he was loaned out. This isn't true . Aribo had scored more league goals . Total 3. Archer had 5 goals. 2 in the league and 3 in the cup. We have no good strikers that's for sure but I'd definitely start Onuachu and Sulemana, they're the best of a bad bunch. Sulemana's pace and Onuachu height cause problems for defenders and they create space for others. Dibling is a good sub to bring on but is more hit and miss than Sulemana. Archer has been very very poor and offers nothing. Shame as he clearly is a decent finisher going by the Arsenal goal and has some pace but his overall play is terrible, he's almost a liability in the team. |
 | Forum Reply | Could Southampton's Loaned Out Players Return To Play This Season at 15:54 25 Apr 2025
I'm reserving judgement on Charles and Edwards. Yes, they've impressed at their respective loan clubs. But there is a massive difference between the expectation of two mid table Championship sides and ourselves who should be aiming to win the Championship. We need players that will guarantee us 90 plus points , not the 50 to 60 points that QPR and Sheff Weds will end up on. |

Looking forward to seeing whether Scott Parkers defensive set up works in the Prem . It's incredible how few goals they've conceded . A lesson for our owners and prospective new manager that the old adage of you build your team from the back. Our performance at West Ham was a good example of this. |
 | Forum Reply | THREE CENTRE-HALVES YET AGAIN!!! at 15:48 19 Apr 2025
Imo this is our best team. Our best 11 players playing in their correct positions. I appreciate this isn't saying much and the 2nd half will likely result in us conceding at some point but at least we look like a team. |

Currently Leeds and Burnley look like they're heading for promotion. Farke has two promotions to the the Premier League Parker has two as well. Sean Dyche , currently out of work has two promotions to the Prem. . As Pat pointed out in this thread this wouldn't be wacky enough for us under our current owners. Cooper would also be a sensible choice. Both play dull football but who cares if we're winning for a change. |

I quite liked Edozie when we were in the Championship. I thought he was improving until the injury at Norwich. Regulary beating the fullback and he started to weigh in with some goals and assists. Ideally we'd improve on both of these players by bringing in on loan Summerville from West Ham. He was excellent for Leeds but he's a bit part player for the Hammers. |

Sadly not true. 18 years old, 3 weeks after passing my test I drove up with my mate in my battered old Vauxhall Cavelier that kept overheating . If my memory serves me right they announced the tragedy at half time and my mate cheered...there were knobheads then just as there is now. |

Good point about Charlie Alceraz . Most fans could see an exciting if raw prospect at Premier league level from the 22/23 Season Didn't suit Martins style . The club bin him off back to South America after making a about 2 million profit. Now on loan at Everton and already looking like a 20 million pound plus player.... Sports Republic...we buy young players, develop them and sell on for profit..I guess they technically achieved that with Alceraz ...well done on the 2 million. |

We're the only team to have conceded three goals from the opponents three substitutes in the Prem history...add that to the list. Over a period of 7 or so years we've morphed from a Premier league club to a bona fide Championship team and Club. |
 | Forum Reply | Southampton V Aston Villa The Verdict at 10:30 14 Apr 2025
A common theme this season has been the opposition bring on subs who make a positive impact , whilst we've consistently looked worse when we bring on ours. Saturdays game was a perfect example of this. |
 | Forum Reply | Southampton V Aston Villa The Verdict at 09:58 14 Apr 2025
Regarding where Taylor is , Rusk said pre match that's injured. Unbeknown to us Onuachu had an ankle njury pre match as well which probably contributed to his poor first half. We actually looked even worse when he went off as the team plays better with a target man. Sulemana had no support and lost possession alot but at least he tried to push forwards and get involved . Villa were miles better than us and getting to half time nil nil felt like a minor victory which sums up how terrible this season has been. Only players who left the pitch with any real credit were Ramsdale, Fernandes and Stephens . |

Fernandes is such a good player and works so hard..top class player. I think all the players try it's just they are not good enough at this level ..apart from KWP and Ramsdale. |
