Doesn't look like we had many defenders in the line up? Soares, Bednarek, and Danso. Did we play 3 at the back? |
| News Comment | Cedric On Way Back To Old Club After Inter Milan Deception at 20:37:29
FWIW I think Cedric is a class player. His crossing is better than either wingback we finished with today. If we can afford his wages it would be a shame not to keep him. If Ralf can't make him the player he was a couple of season's ago, then you have to wonder why not? |
| News Comment | Saints V Manchester United The Verdict at 09:31:40
My take - higher than usual rate of individual errors on our part. Redmond by far the worst offender. The wrong substitutions - JWP's face said it all. Bouffal offers ... nothing. And plain bad luck - can't really link the three penalty misses as its three different players, and they were all on target. The game, like the season, looks good on paper, but given the quality of players we have out there on the pitch - it can see why it leaves some fans disappointed. |
| News Comment | Have Saints Fans Had Enough Of Victor Wanyama ? at 21:15:13
He can't shoot, usually passes backwards, rarely scores, doesn't create time on the ball, was mis-timing tackles all day long before the sending off (which looked worse on the telly than it did at the time). Ignoring all the off-field speculation - I think we should sell him for every penny we can get. In the absence of spiderman, Davis has come on leaps and bounds, Victor has got worse and worse. |

@Slynch ... I expect Poyet to follow, and then all their good players. Hopefully before kick off. #firesale |
| News Comment | Saints V Chelsea The Verdict at 12:00:46
MoPo got the substitution so wrong: taking off Cork left a hole - combine that with a day that Spiderman would probably rather forget and we effectively surrendered the area in front of the defence and looked vulnerable from that point onwards. Anyone else think the first goal looked eminently saveable? I haven't seen replays but at the time I thought it was an easy catch. Highlight for me was hearing the "johnstone paint trophy - you'll never win that!" chant back at the visiting fans. Priceless. |
| News Comment | Tightest Saints Defence In 3 Decades at 10:38:10
Totally agree about Boruc, and the comment above about keeping the ball in the other half. Lovren however, hasn't quite hit the bill for me yet. There were a couple of heart in mouth moments entirely down to his blunders. So much of our success this year has been the luck of the fixture list, IMHO. COYR |

Hi Nick, long time reader first time poster. Always enjoy reading this site, so thanks BTW. When you say our better players are doubtful, who are you referring to .... Not sure I'd count Ramirez among the 'better' ones on current form, and frankly there's not that much to pick between our centre halves... Fox adds a different dimension to Shaw, and one could hope his hunger/freshness could make up some of the gap between them. Isn't Lala fit by now? Or have I missed some injuries... ? Anyhow ... Fingers crossed for all three points. |
