You are right fans can help change games, but ultimately the players have to chip in too, some of Saints best victories away from home over the years have been achieved with poor away followings Sunderland away 1980 one of Keegan's first games was achieved in front of 41,000 packed into Roker Park with about 3-400 Saints fans in part of a small terrace on the side. I am sure others can name a few more |

You are right the cup was paraded round the Dell as the two clubs played a friendly game or maybe a hants cup game the week after I think and they brought the cup. |

Isnt this pretty much what I said about the players, other than I predicted that those in your OK mode would step up a gear The ones you say are miss's I have basically said they have not played enough games so the jury is out. |

Given that we used an equal number of home fans in the Northam augmented by the Kingsland Corner and the Itchen North, "being drowned out by" must be a Euphemism for our fans just dont sing much |

Dirk is right every club sung YNWA even Manchester United, virtually every song is stolen from somewhere, aside from a few specially written club songs like Blue is the Colour at Chelsea |

1. The Northam end was better than the first two games, but still is split into different groups and seems to miss the away fans to bounce off. 2. Getting into the ground seems to be quicker these days, perhaps because people are there earlier for the fan zones 3. They had stewards blocking the bridge again, what is the point of blocking the way 4. Where the seagulls on strike, I cant remember seeing any doing a fly around the stadium 5. we seem to attack the Northam end now in the second half rather than the Chapel |

In fairness I asked a question and it is relevant, if the Liverpool owners bought Torino, I think a section of the Juventus fans would not be too happy about it. It is not the Everton fans fault or Liverpool fans for that matter, but truth is there is a lot of friction still between the two clubs as its fairly recent history. |

I wouldnt call it a tenuous link, Everton fans have been chanting murderers at Liverpool fans for the last 25 years or so, there is no love lost between Liverpool and Roma fans and it will be ignited if Everton try to do some sort of sister club thing with Roma |
| Forum Thread | Everton Announce New Owners at 16:18 23 Sep 2024
Subject to financial fair play checks etc, this will not go down well with the Red side of Merseyside as they also own Roma who 6 years or so ago attacked innocent Liverpool fans outside Anfield before a European game and left one fan fighting for his life and is now permanently disabled after the attack |

Whilst most games are must win games when you are at the bottom, sometimes the results don't go as you would like. When you are in a relegation battle you have to take every positive, otherwise it just drags down everyone players & supporters. It felt like a defeat, but if we had equalised in the 95th minute it would have felt like a point gained not lost. Seasons are marathons not sprints there were a lot more positives than negatives on Saturday, for a start we didn't lose and that was the biggest hurdle of the day to overcome, we can't expect a team to just become good overnight, it takes time |

Fernandez had run his herat out, Aribo can play a defensive role in the midfield, it was an obvious switch |

The players are whinging about playing so many games, in 1976/77 Liverpool played 62 games and in domestic games could only use 11 players and a sub, in total they played 62 games, starting with us in the Charity shield and ending with the European cup final, you don't see their players from back then complaining and they probably used a core of about 16 players. Man City not having European competition played 49. This season City played 59 matches, 3 less than Liverpool did in 1977, but they did so with being able to use 5 substitutes in each match and with quite a few games being cup games both domestic and European where they played virtual reserve teams and 19 players who played 25 games or more, Rodri who complained played just 50, about average for a mid table team in the 70/80/90's when teams played 42 League games and a few cup games. So which team had the hardest season, Liverpool with 16 core players or Manchester City who used 33 players ? For comparison Saints played 57 games in 76/77 and and 54 games last season, just 5 games less than Manchester City, did you see any of our players complaining |

The Tories had 12 years in power, they inherited a country decimated by the Credit crunch, whilst undeniably the Tories made many mistakes whilst in power the 3 big issues that have caused the country to squander multi millions ( Just a phrase to cover the lot) were all caused by events outside the Governments control. 1. Brexit - Implemented by the Government after the people voted, you can't get much more socialist than that. 2. Covid - Strangely not invented by Boris Johnson whilst on a visit to a Wuhan laboratory. 3. The Ukraine war - this has far reaching issues other than just throwing a few billion at them when they need more missiles etc, but we have had to redivert other funds to our own defence programme. Inflation went mad because of the gas & oil issues These are perhaps 3 of the biggest causes of our problems, would they have been any different under a Labour Government, I think not the people would still have voted out, Covid would still have hit and Labour would have gone with the experts and locked down and Putin would have still invaded. |

Lallana is not a holding player or tackler, yes he picks up the ball deep, but essentially he and Fernandes play in the same position, one is more about surging forward and attacking and the other these days is about using the ball. Both need Downes and Big Les behind them |

Not sure we would play with both, we know we will get about 30 mins from Lallana, 45 mins tops, I would start Fernandes and then bring on Lallana. I think we got better as the game went on and Fernandes was helped by the introduction of the likes of Dibling and Downes on the hour mark |

Compare Sean Dyche's comments after the game were he winged about the players available and basically said with the players he had at his disposal they were lucky to even get a draw and Russell Martin who talks about the positive points |
