I'm more interested in trying to hold Nourry to account at the Junior Hoops Halloween and Christmas parties. Chasing him round the Blue and White bar dressed up as an enormous bat, demanding to know the length of Clarke-Salter's contract and whether we own Saito or not.
Gab's main point was that they had a young squad full of potential that was finding it's feet in the Championship and had been a bit inconsistent, but they were primed to mature this season and coalesce into a proper outfit. Excellent call by someone who has encyclopaedic knowledge of the EFL.
Really frustrating display last night. Clearly not fit, and trying to do far too much. As we've seen before, reluctant to play the early pass. Some of our best football in recent years has come down that left flank with Eze/Chair/Wallace & Willock/Chair/Paal combinations. With Saito, Chair, Paal, JCS we've got the players to replicate that again, but our passing was so slow and ponderous, taking too long on the ball before playing it. Painful at times.
Greg Spires, who's been doing the analytics pieces for the new signings, did an excellent series of articles over the summer looking at potential targets. Madsen featured heavily when looking at CM options - really interesting read.
Anyone watch much of Blackpool last season? Seen ex-Celtic wonderkid Karamako Dembele being talked about as a target for Derby/Sheff Wednesday. Left-footed winger in the same mould as JRS and Bowler, 8G amd 13A for Blackpool last season and still only 21. Thought he could have been another option.
The idea also is to make it harder for the oppo to press. If Nardi plays out to JCS, the opposition can work their press to force JCS wide and block off half the pitch. By going from one of the CBs back to the GK, it gives Nardi thr option of going either way and makes him harder to close down
Practically, how does a local business upscale production to go from catering for maybe 100 pax a day, to maybe 500-1000 in a two hour window, I'm a way that is economically viable and maintains the quality of the product?
I'd love Ochis to do a couple vats of curry goat with rice and peas, but I reckon it's a push. They'd also have to charge best part of a score, which I don't imagine would go down well.
Loving this thread and all the fantastic advice shared, particularly as I'm currently sat in Queen Charlotte's with my partner due on Thursday. Thanks all for the collective wisdom and best of luck Spaceman!
Hopefully hear a bit more from Marti soon - when's the interview coming Norf? Usually around this time, no? Didn't see the game yesterday but got a rough reaction on the board!
I'd probably say Clarence Court Burford Browns. They look fancy and cost a few bob more, but they only get the golden yolk by feeding the chickens paprika. Bit of a scam really, not worth the money.
Probably would have said the same thing last year, with Cook and JCS being our preferred partnership and Cannon at RB. It's a long season though and I've no doubt Jimmy will fight his way back into the XI at some point.
How pally do we think Wilder and Jason Dozzell got back in 1998 when they were both at Northampton? Stinks of Wilder doing his old mate a favour - no way in hell he's watched Dozzell play football and genuinely thought he'd improve their midfield.
I coach youth football until about 12:20 every Saturday morning - could usually skip pack up and get away at 12:00 on the odd occasion we had a 12:30 KO, but that doesn't work if it's every effing week
