Ashby and Andersen should have been subbed at half time. But have awful games

Lloyd - Lone Striker Role

Agreed. It seemed whenever he had the ball at his feet he was tripping over his feet. Limited ball control. Loads of effort but ultimately I don’t think he is particularly skilled (sadly). Can’t doubt his effort or energy but he’s at best a limited “short term impact” substitute

QPR v Oxfoooooord match thread
at 06:18 12 Dec 2024

Woefull first half. QPR seem to lower their game when playing bottom teams rather than raising their game. Truly woeful. And our passing - all game was so poor. So many passes / flicks made without any care and often went to Oxford or even out of play. So so careless.
The 'in your face' from the get go of the past 4 matches had totally disappeared.

A better 2nd half but really we should have won that game by 5 or 6 today had we played as we have the past few weeks.

Lets hope on Saturday the team and tactics from last Saturday are played and not the team of last nights first half.

We are on a winning run at the moment but it looks to me to still be quite fragile.

But a wins a win. A point at least at Bristol needed to keep this momentum going. We are so close to mid table now but equally two poor matches and we will be deep in the DO DO again.

Pleased for Celar. Pleased for the team.

But for Nardi, we could easily have lost that match.

Maybe just maybe Celar can now prove all us doubters wrong.

Lets see how things pan out over the coming few weeks. Green shoots of recovery?

There is still a lot of work to do.....

Agreed. Smyth and Lloyd are subs to come on after 60 mins. They aren’t really good enough for long stints

Our Captain should have stepped in and stopped him taking the penalty . This is down to Cook

No time for sentiments. We need our best penalty taker taking every penalty no matter what.

We were poor. Stoke not much better. When Celar was subbed we were not quite so poor.

We really need to cut our losses with Celar. Send him on loan to a Conference side if you want to develop him. If not get rid .

But even as poor as we were , we should really have won this match. But there are zero goals in this team. Unless we stump up and get a proven goal scorer in January we will be in League 1 for sure come May.

Saito man of the match. How about rising above everyone for that header right at the end.

Our situation is totally down to our owner, his chairman and his CEO/DOF.

Is this season written off already?
at 17:47 9 Nov 2024

But the big question is. Even if we end up in League 1 can we trust Ruben and Nourry to make decisions for the better of QPR?

On the evidence of this summers transfers in and out , I am not convinced.

The owner(s) have for best part of 10 years made 10 bad decisions for every 1 good decision

Even if MC stays next year, if Nourry is still CEO and de facto DOF we are much more likely to be in League 2 in 26/27 than back up in the Championship.

Ruben & Nourry staying = continued slow death of the club

Such short memories.

The Warnock Premiership signings were the catalyst that started our slow but constant decline. This accelerated greatly during Mark Hughes reign and of course by 'Arry.

But the real blame is the owners who allowed these managers to buy whatever they wanted whenever they wanted - without question.

I dont think this team would even make lower mid table in League 1. This team, playing like this, would just about make top half of League 2. Just.

MC has got to go
at 06:32 6 Nov 2024

MC is part of the problem but I alos believe he is also part of the solution.

Our real issues are above and below him

A number of players brought in this summer are simply nowhere near good enough, even for League 2. They are Sutton United standard at best.

Absent owners who employ a totally inexperienced Nourry and give him total control over everything. (CEO & DOF). Thats the real reason we are here in the first place.

Owners with zero football experience employing people with zero football experience to run the club and run recruitment.

The result (and results) speak for themselves.

Nourry has to go. And now. He is totally incompetent.

But until we have new owners - and owners who know football and know what they are doing - the situation is never going to improve.

If Ruben stays and Nourry stays then League 2 in 2026/27 is exactly where we will be.

Between them they have absolutley no idea.

I think Clive summed it up many many moons ago when he said we were being killed by the kindness of our owner(s). Exactly!

Celar - Nothing Again

Exactly

"Dunne attacks the ball far more often and aggressively than he does. Dunne looks like he wants it, badly, Celar on the other hand……"

No disrespect but... Sunderland match threað
at 06:37 3 Nov 2024

Another good defensive performance but again so woeful in attack.

For half hour against 10 men, we couldn't even worry their Goalie let alone score. With the Plymouth match thats 90 mins now that we've played against 10 men and failed to score a goal.

Watching the match, for great periods, I thought it looked like a 60yrs old walking football match. We seem incapable of upping the tempo, being far happier to stop, wait, ponder then pass sideways. Sunderland were there for the taking - even with 11 men.

Some have said Celar had his best match for us. But in my mind he was still woeful. Twice I recall crosses coming in and Dunn agressivly attacked the ball to win the header with Celar showing no such determination, when he should have been the one going for the ball.

Seems we might have stopped the rot at the back but if we dont start scoring goals - and fast - we are not going to be winning any matches and the gap to safety will get further and further away.

Our major issue, a problem we have had for many years now, is a total lack of any real 'threat' once we get to the 18 yard box.
