What a breath of fresh air. Thank you so much for the Trusts involvement in this communication. It is all we ask for. |

That Trust statement is a breath of fresh air. It is called communication and thank you for the Trusts efforts in all this. Rock and hard place comes to mind for lots of people really and not knowing leads to apathy, frustration and in some cases anger. It could have all been avoided with inclusion and better communication, rather than obtaining it from the press. We must stick together as we did when we saw off Curran, Rose, Jarvis and Southall as we may have another and bigger fight on our hands mid March. I'm sure there will be more fond memories for generations to come of following our beloved team. Up the Dale! |

My apologies TS…. Firgrove 😂😂 To be very serious tho, it couldn’t be any worse and the possibility of a phoenix club is as real as ever. On a more positive note, there will always be a football club representing the town. We wouldn’t have it any other way. Up the Dale! |

The Price of Football Podcast with Kieran Maguire is very good explaining the situation. Worth a listen. It seems this is the last roll of the dice. There is no administration- it’s straight to liquidation. Phoenix Club and Lenny barn. No point looking back now. It’s the choice of taking 4 bullets in the chest and maybe die a slow death or one to the head and get it over quickly. |

Life is for living, going forwards and someday trying to understand it looking backwards. As many have alluded to, it's time to look forward. The time for reflection is over. Issues need raising and things need saying. The dwarf on the other side of the hill is now the giant standing in front of us. It's quite clear the board isn't listening. They have their own agenda. There have been a plethora of great ideas and initiatives put forward over the last two and a half years in order to grow the club. Yet, we have gone backwards, and I feel the tipping point has been passed. The administrator's question will be, "What did you do to grow revenue?" We may have to leave others to answer that. We've done what we could. Now, the options are stark: 1. Sell the club to a legitimate owner like Frank Rothwell. However, finding one at this point seems unlikely. The way the club is currently being run reflects poorly on us in the shop window. 2. Sell the club to the highest bidder. As the clock ticks down and finances dwindle, the sharks are circling. The board may be tempted to sell out to anyone just to recoup their losses. "We had no alternative" can be heard whistling down the corridors of power and we know how that story ends with our near misses with MH and JNG. 3. Administration. Forget share allocations and the Morris Rule. It's game over. The highest bidder takes all. Despite all this, the one constant since 1907 has been the supporters, and I believe that's where our focus should be. Someone mentioned throwing good money after bad with the shares and the squad builder fund. They may be right. So let's start looking after ourselves, the loyal fans. We can't control what happens in the boardroom, but we can control our own actions. We need to prepare for the future, however painful it may be. The life rafts need to be lowered. We owe it to the likes of David Clough, David Kilpatrick, Tom Nicholl, Paul Hazelhurst, and all those who came before us. What would they say if they knew what was happening and what as fans we were doing about it? |

I just want my football club back …. Please! |

This is very poor. This just highlights how far the board are out of touch with their customers. Let's just carry on regardless. I didn't think it would come to this. |

I don't think he's made a statement elsewhere... Freda and I, over a glass of sherry of course, have chatted long and hard about the report and we can't get over how much it leans towards casting David Bottomley as some sort of victim. It's quite sycophantic in places and I feel nepotism or the dark forces of fraternal organisations in full flow. Plus the fact that Mr. Bottomely was also on an EFL working group. Yet the report castigates Mr Pockney, calls him a liar and informs us he misled the investigation by stating he wasn't aware of Currans involvement until the bomb went off in July 21. We don't know what the EFL had in terms of physical evidence, e.g. an email that Mr. Pockney had replied to acknowledging Curans involvement. The report states they obviously interviewed Mr. Bottomley and his very good friend, Mr. Grindrod. They both stated Mr. Pockney was aware, which they would do wouldn't they. The allegation by many was that Mr. Bottomley acted alone with AJ & MH in those negotiations, so they both would want to tell the EFL everyone else was aware. I know I'm old and doddery but we both agree that there's something niggling us. |

The more I read that report... the more I am inclined to believe Tony Pockney. Time to move onwards and upwards... hopefully! |

I've been to Aldi with Freda and got ourselves some shortbread to have with our cuppa. I'm going to have a good read of this report and take it all in. What we all have to remember is that this is ONLY an investigation into breaching EFL rules. It isn't the big picture. Lots more has gone on that we don't know about as yet. The court case against Bottomley is coming up. David Bottomley is very good at what he does. He plays the victim part well as he has done in the past and will no doubt continue to do so. He was inches away from selling the club to MH. If it wasn't for 'so called fans', I wouldn't be writing this now. The Dale would be in the National League. The report is not impartial and shows bias. It is not good reading for any of the board from February to June 21, when DB was CEO. We did it.. we kept them out. All credit to the 'so called fans' |
| Forum Thread | David Roger Bottomley - Guilty as charged at 16:50 17 Oct 2022
Guilty as charged. Let the facts do the talking. this is not harassment but reporting of facts. GUILTY. You have caused us pain and hardship David for all your wrong doings. I hope this is a real warning to those that want to employ you in the future. For all those that defended you, scurry away to your crevices. Guilty! |

Now then, I've booked for Freda and myself and we are travelling out on Jet2. Isn't it a very early start!! I do need my beauty sleep these days. Freda wants to get a taxi from the airport but I do like trains. Reminds me of the old steam trains on the Bacup line. Would you be so kind my luvvies to keep us updated as to where we are meeting. My friends from Charlton are meeting us at Hotel Scalinata on Saturday just before the pick up, about 3.30pm. If anyone wants to join us, you are more than welcome. Scalinata is opposite Hotel Hassler and I think young Matthew Lund may be there. Selfies? We fly home on Monday so looking for ideas, trips etc for the Sunday. I have a new hat and I haven't been as excited about a wedding since Kylie and Jason. |

Now then young Robert, I know you're a nice lad at heart but it's the Sun newspaper that is sharing your photographs my love. All we are doing is saying please, please stop it. We know you're passionate, we know you're a Daley but yesterday you and others crossed the line, literally. We are all arsed what happens at our club and all that we ask is you just give a thought to all those young families and children on the coach and at the game. Lots of people are working hard to keep the good name of your club. Don't spoil it luvvy. I think its time for reflection |
