Nothing indiscriminate about targeting your enemy instead of raining non guided rockets on innocent people every day for nigh on a year.

Club gives Starmer ÂŁ2000?

So football is allowed to financially court a politician but under UEFA/FIFA rules a Govt isn’t allowed to interfere with football to insure integrity.
Someone’s having a laugh here.

Tata and the new UK steel strategy
at 22:04 11 Sep 2024

I am totally confused over the whole situation. Westminster and the Senedd have pointed out that Port Talbot steelworks was one of the highest polluters in the UK and in the drive for net zero something has to be done about it. So we shut down the local coal supply and imported coal from Australia.
TATA then claimed they were losing £1 million a day in PT a day and something had to be done. TATA are a private business and under pressure from everywhere to become a greener company they’ve in effect thrown the towel in…get as much subsidy from the tax payer and maybe do us a favour in staying for a while longer.
In the mean time Westminster Labour blame the last Govt for the poor deal left on the table by them and they tried their best but hey ho. Meanwhile the Senedd have ducked below the parapet as Drakeford and later Gething got their knickers in a twist over their Green image…but still want the steelworkers votes.
What will the outcome be? Well we’ve seen the results when BP shut down Llandarcy and Baglan refineries. When Fords shut in Swansea and later in Bridgend. Politicians will expel a lot of hot air and nothing but nothing will be done to alleviate the suffering of the local communities.
Rant over and apologies for boring you all.

The Govt don’t pay a penny Doc…we do. The Govt mismanage how they spend it.
On this subject let’s agree to disagree.

To expensive to means test everyone. At least that was the reason behind universal child allowance. Govt reduced it to a max of two children instead.
No…I believe free health care is for everyone. It was the founding principle of the NHS. Over the years we seem to have to pay more and more. Perhaps we are at the point where our taxes should be reduced to account for this.

Personally I believe the sick and elderly shouldn’t have to worry if they can afford a prescription. If Govt spent our money wisely then it shouldn’t be an issue.

Far from it. However it’ll be interesting to see the effects on illegal immigration now Germany has signalled it will be closing its borders to them.
Also the chattering class still keep alive the hopes of rejoining a failing project. Perhaps if everyone’s energy was directed to making Brexit a success….and I include the judiciary in this…then things might be a little better for us.

The EU is fragmenting at an alarming rate. Germany hardening up its borders to immigrants…Hungary being fined millions for failing to take their fare share of immigrants and now threatening to bus them to Brussels.
France doing God knows what and Italy leaning more to the right every day. It’s akin to having your family around for Christmas and suggesting playing Monopoly….its never going to be a happy event.

They’ve only had about 15 years to plan for this.
And people wonder why the UK is so screwed up

It’s going to take a revolution before change happens….or less people working and paying taxes, otherwise known as Economically Inactive. Once the latter increases past say 12% of the working age population then there will be a bit of a crises on our doorsteps I’d say.

A genuine stalwart of our club. He found a home here and a rare beast these days showing loyalty to the club and its supporters. He’s given his best to us and I can only applaud that. When we’ve taken a hammering in a game he always acknowledged the support while others couldn’t wait to get off the pitch.
Through good and bad he’ll always be one of ours.

Decades of failure led to deadly Grenfell Tower fire ...
at 21:04 4 Sep 2024

It’s utterly disgraceful and repugnant….and yet it’s totally British when after a very expensive multi year enquiry Tower blocks are still going up in flames and the threat of death is still relevant.

What is wrong with this country when the Met say they can’t prosecute due to a different system. What more evidence do they need when it’s been presented to them on a plate for Christ’s sake.

They seem able to round up and prosecute a person who makes an online comment not to their tastes but are absolutely powerless when it comes to corporate greed and murder for profit.

Feral….and untouchable. Police serve a bit of paper… section whatever it’s called… and think that’s the answer. If it’s not nipped in the bud then it has the potential to lead to murder and other crime. In this case it has. An 80 year old for Gods sake.
