3 Questions 1) Who do you think will win this years PDC? 2) Who do you want to win it? 3) Who's your least favourite player? For me: 1) Littler 2) Johnny "The Ferret" Clayton 3) Luke Humphreys (not sure what it is, just can't take to him and find him smarmy) |

Worst Saturday for Sport ever. I feel like I'm on edge. Outside of the regular football season at least you have some other sports on i.e. golf or tennis. But today has been an absolute shocker. Almost, just almost went and finished off painting the bathroom ceiling the Mrs has been going on about for the last 3 years. But decided to watch the Darts instead with a few [Post edited 28 Dec 21:19]

| Forum Reply | What value Cullen ? at 10:22 28 Dec 2024
He's improved a lot this season and the Swans are starting to reap the reward for the years of support and development put in to him. He's cheap (contract), so unless a significant bid comes in which allows LW to replace and fund other signings I think he should (and will) stay. As other posters have said, he's a home bird, and loves the club, I've never doubted his motivation and he wears his heart in his sleeve. I don't think he's reached his ceiling yet and can only see him getting better and better over the next 2-3 years. I suspect another contract offer with increased wages will be on the table within the next 12-18 months if he continues to impress. As for Value, I'd put him somewhere in the 6m bracket, and even that would be too low to consider selling at this current time (IMO) |

If we can also get another solid, towering CB and Francos Twin brother in this window, maybe, just maybe we could push for a playoff. Cullen doing fantastic in the AM role, but maybe another position which needs some strengthening in terms of depth? |

Another goal please before ringing the changes. Cullen very impressive and glad he's settling into the AM position. I called it last season that I thought he'd be a good fit there. Ronald having a good game down the right! Best performance for some time. |

Well that was just about the most comprehensive Half's I've seen from the Swans in so long. 83% possession and no shots on target against. Hopefully learnt some lessons in recent weeks and will kill off any chance of a fightback early in the second half. |

It's no coincidence the majority of swans fans were pleased/relieved to see him go as we're the saints halfway through his debut PL season. It's all well and good having a philosophy and an idealistic way to play. But if there's no custard in the cupboard you can't make a trifle... You have to adapt. He refused and has paid the price with his job (although I'm sure feet up with his millions in the bank will give him some compensation this Christmas). I wouldn't say I wish him well, but I do respect him for playing an absolute blinder to make some money!!! |

Were struggling to compete (ok dominate) with equivalent and lower level teams... Let alone better quality ones!!! |

Give Derby their credit, they really put us under the pump second half and deserved to get something out of the game. I was really frustrated watching that second half, yes we were clinging on and defending deep but when we were really poor retaining possession and when we had the chance to counter attack we were too slow and held into the ball to long. Will take the 3pts away in the road but dear me we got away with that one! Credit to the defensive effort though... Goal from a penalty otherwise defended well and bravely. [Post edited 27 Nov 22:20]

With 7 months to go on their contracts and us currently mid table not knowing if we'll make a push for the playoffs or get dragged into a relegation battle. I can't see there being any hope in hell of these two signings new contracts before May/June. They would have to be offered incredible terms to sign on the dotted line. Both have the balance of power in their hands and perversely the fact that it's both of them only makes them individually more powerful. We will get peanuts for them in January unless someone really wants to get ahead of the crowd and get them committed to their club before they become free agents in the summer. Between them they are assets worth over 10m, which the club wouldn't be able to cash in on or afford to replace like for like. They're still young players for CB so will keep improving over the next 4-6 years. Best chance we have is to offer them vastly improved terms with a sell clause of a big money offer comes in. But, If their agents are aware of other clubs monitoring their situations (and they will) then it's not in the players best interests to re-sign a mediocre contract for a mediocre club who appear to be lacking ambition when their stock is on the up. Yes it's a short career which could be ended by injury tomorrow and therefore it's in the players interest to sign long term deals. But it's also in the players interests to sign the best contracts they think they can get to maximise their earnings in such short careers. If premiership teams are tracking them, or those who have the potential to go up this year and ply their trade in the top tier..... They will hang on until those options have been exhausted surely? |

He's only had five starts if you include the two League Cup fixtures, plus four appearances off the bench. This is a young man, settling into a brand new team, new league, new city and new country. Some players adapt really well and hit the ground running, others take time. Maybe he's not suited to a lone striker role and needs a partner to play off/with??? I still think he has some significant potential, but he needs a run of 10 games to help him settle and we can then assess how good/far off he is. LW sees him in training on a daily basis and will be a better judge than me, but I don't think he's had a fair/decent run of games yet to get into any form of stride |

I don't pick up on anything major in the interview other than a bit disappointed we didn't score a second and put them to bed? |

Fair enough. I'm not in receipt of all the facts regarding that situation |

Don't understand the animosity towards Monk at all. He was a great leader for us, and formed formidable partnerships at the heart of our defence, coming back from a couple of serious injuries too. He wasn't successful with us as a manger I get it (tell me.one manager who has been since), but I no doubt he gave it 100% as he did on the field as he cared for us so much. He's struggled in management, some ex players do, but as someone I respect massively I take no joy in seeing it and wish him all the best for the future. |
