I just wanted to say a big thanks to Stephen & his mates who sit in the Pearl St stand for the free taxi lift along with them from Kirkham & Wesham train station to the ground soon after 2pm this afternoon as the torrential downpour showed no signs of easing up! It was very much appreciated! And what a 2nd half too! ππFrom Clive - Sandy Lane Terrace aka BlackburnDale (back in Blackburn now lol) π
Thanks a lot for your post - I've now bought my match pass on National League TV for the Boston game too - I didn't realise it was going to be broadcasted live!
Brought my nieces hubby to the game tonight in the Sandy with the 'friend for a fiver' offer. He's not been this season, but he has been been occasionally before on previous seasons.
He couldn't understand the sideways /go backwards tippy-tappy obsession especially when in promising positions. The low crowd shocked him as well.
Sadly we both agreed the best thing about the evening was the chippy tea from the Wilbutts chippy beforehand.
Not an inspiring performance for the last home game of the season for any walk-ons, or personally when I'm deciding if I can afford a season ticket next season. The first half was the most mind-numbing that I've ever seen this season at the COA. The second half was a bit better but still where was the urgency, the desire, the movement, the anticipation of a penetrating pass, the pride in playing for the shirt?
So many occasions this season when the visiting side here shows much more desire & pace - today was no exception. Chapman pulled off a super save in the second half, plus other saves otherwise we'd have ended up with nothing.
'Has anyone considered that some people may actually go in the Sandy because itβs cheaper?'
I bought my first season ticket this season & I go in the Sandy cos it's more affordable with travelling in out of town on public transport & I can stand up - I hate being cramped in a seat when I'm over 6 foot tall.
