I would presume that the ticket office would quite happily take your cash in exchange for a ticket before the game, but you’ve got to consider it from their view as well - they won’t want to advertise that as they don’t want to get swamped with massive queues for ticket sales, especially whilst “persuading” the masses that the new technology is the primary way to do things. If they start saying publicly that you can still pay cash at the office on the day how many fans do you think will not bother pre-purchasing because it’s a hassle or unfamiliar?
Theoretically it could have been an innocent update to the document, for example if it had references to him or GR being on the board of directors then he could have changing these details to make it correct. He was still an employee who had probably worked the most on this document in his role as CEO so I wouldn’t deem that to be an issue.
Just searched “ edward courtnell denise wedding” and ancestry. com showed up as the top google result as one Edward Courtnell having married a Denise, and in the London area. This was a Denise V. Lomax
