although to be fair to redknapp, the trail after Parker and Defoe have been the only case this summer of chasing ofter older permiership players.
I thnk he has done a ogood job of getting rid of the older bloated, cant be bothered players - Cisse, Bosingwa, Samba, Taarabt etc.
We have saved a hell of a lot of money compared to last year.
Do i want either Parker or defoe? no -but then again we havent signed tem yet.... |  |

He left West Ham with a squad that included Lampard, Ferdinand, Di Canio, Sinclair, Carrick and Joe Cole so not sure he left them in a mess, somehow Glenn Roeder managed to get that lot relegated within 2 years with players they ended up selling for a fortune.

And I very much doubt any manager is in charge of balancing the books any more. If a manager goes to the board and asks for a player and they say yes, then that is down to the board to arrange and deal with the wages etc. Harry always manages to attract some quality players and build good teams, which is his job. Although better written than his last efforts this is the same bloke that ranted on about Warnock and any signings we ever made. When we were in the Prem and they were in the Championship he consistently belittled us at every stage. To be honest, I really can't take him seriously. |  |
