Gary Jones - the man, the machine, the legend 11:18 - Dec 29 with 3641 views | RAFC1907 | Setting off shortly to what I hope is going to be a cracking game with 3 points coming back over to the Red Rose of Lancashire. Gary Jones no doubt will be excited about this match and who can blame him? A player and manager can move from club to club but a supporter cant, but I like to follow good footballer's and Gary Jones certainly fits into that category for me. I obviously want us to win but at the same time I wish Gary Jones all the best for this game, if he hits a 30 yard screamer and it turns out to be the winner I would be very happy for him. I expect him to crunch into tackles with our midfield and run the game like he would for Rochdale, and I will be singing his name before the game as I expect many others to do. Ohh Gary Jones...

Believe it or not Mcardle had his worst game ever for us today, but having said that he has played more minutes than any other player in the country this season so he must be knackered out. Gary Jones also bottled it today, he was taken out of the game by Kennedy, well i think it was him doing the man marking.

Gary Jones - the man, the machine, the legend on 18:37 - Dec 29 by olympicdale | sounds like Tutte/JK bossed the midfield. |
It wasn't just that, Jones was ineffective with the ball anyway. Both Tutte and Kennedy carry the ball forward better and he isn't a similar player to Cavanagh ie. Not suited to the destroyer role. Don't doubt he's done well at Bradford, but they've been poor for years - he's the sort of player that stands out when trying to turn a team round. But he's not the player he was 2+ years ago. Gary Jones - the man, the machine, the legend on 19:28 - Dec 29 with 1041 views | BartRowou | If you averaged out Jones's performances over the last 10 years, his display today would be the archetype. Lots of sideways passing and huffing and puffing, he should have been booked for a mistimed challenge and he drove a free-kick into the wall. 6 out of 10.

Gary Jones - the man, the machine, the legend on 19:50 - Dec 29 with 1004 views | Nerazzurri | Today we gave a textbook display on how to defeat a 442. Our midfield completely dominated against their 2 and the amount of times we took a short goal kick and knocked it around at the back stretching and forcing them to close us down before exposing their centre was amazing. 71% possession first half is something else and the damage was well and truly done in the first 45.

But did he really want it today did not look like it to me, their supporters say he has been fantastic all season. Gary Jones should br at Dale learning to manage them.

He's played a lot of football recently and it will have taken its toll. Its been mentioned many times over the years, that he isn't always at his best when he has to play more than one game in a week. Maybe today reflected that.

Their supporters say he was fantastic up to November on one thread. It's a mistake to leave him on the pitch for 90 minutes in some games.

One of the main problems with Jones is that even had he been first choice this season (which is debatable) then the club still would have found it hard to justify their top earner not being able to play two games in a week.

I ask the question who would you rather have at the club this season - Jones or Grant? They are both probably on a similar wage.

That's interesting, I was wondering how/if they would acknowledge each other.
