The Swans need to be focussed and a proper manager who knows the Championship and has been successful is the only answer. Quit dreaming about idiots π

The forwards press was so much better yesterday they got quickly into shape first before then closing Blackburn down properly add to that the midfield have the pace and tenacity to back that press up when needed while using those skills to recover if good play does cause problem, nice to see our issues further up the pitch not in our defensive third. That change in the forwards press made a big difference meaning Blackburn resorted to the long ball. Blackburn came to attack and we took advantage of that getting in behind themselves as in QPR game, question is could we deal with the teams that park the bus and try counterattacking enough pace in the middle now. |
Long term? What if it was a choice between him and any of the people in the betting favs?

My initial response would be give him until the end of the season, he did well last time but we didn't see what his response to the heavy defeat to Southampton as Luke William's took the reigns directly after. He may have learnt a bit more under William's on the folly of going all out attack after seeing us being picked off by teams by not consolidating what we have, It was nice to see us holding our ground against Blackburn attack both at the start and after we scored the first they tried to put press on us but we set up correctly to withstand their expected responses. In the past we have seen both Jackett and Cooper spend the last fifteen minutes of games defending points the latter doing it with very little pace up front reducing the option's to relieve pressure, against Blackburn the change of the front three gave us that option. If fans could see the problems that William's tactics have produced then surely Sheehan is well aware of them the inclusion of O'Brien's quality helps in the middle just as Allen's does but as we know Allen cannot be relied on to stay injury free. So in answer to the question I would give him the job at least until the end of the season but maybe wait to see his response to a loss. If he is doing well keep him in the loop with reference to the long term plan to make additions to the squad in key areas to replace those players who may not be here next season, Add a bonus for keeping us up with a view of a contract for future seasons. The weekends result has a huge bearing on that. Can't see us rushing to appoint anyone soon. After we've played Leeds those odds I guess will have shifted as we have a tough little run ahead.

Might well have been our best 90 minutes of the season. That Sheehan can raise the levels that much with the same players will probably convince the club that they don't have to rush into appointing a replacement.
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

Agree but that little bit of quality and pace in the middle of midfield has seemingly solved one of our problems with the "transition in play" to use William's words from attack to defense and vice versa. That problem in midfield created big gaps between the three sections, attack, midfield and defense, add that with the over committing of the defenders forward with no viable cover to stifle counter attacks. Was nice to see all three sections able to do their initial jobs properly and being able to link the play to keep on top of the game.

He is already an employee give him a few more weeks to make his case, if he gets a couple more results give him until the end of the season. Blackburn may be just be a blip not the new norm. Just like QPR & second half Bristol City were positive blips for Luke.

If a new guy isn't appointed after a certain amount of days, bookies pay out for the caretaker. I think those odds suggest that Sheehan is going to be atleast caretaker until the amount of days they give pass.

Agree but Sheehan's set up seem to be able to attack with more purpose and also not succumb to the pressure brought by Blackburn. The balance in games swing on odd moments play, Blackburn had two good chances early in the game but didn't take them but we did reduce those chances by having a mindset to defend the lead gained as opposed to continuingly surrendering silly goals early in games by putting ourselves in dangerous situations at the back or thinking we had got back in games throwing caution to the wind only to concede goals within minutes of a recovering goal lose any advantage gained. Another game, another team with different problems and tactics to overcome.
