Yesterday showed that this team can play, that it can defend and it can attack, I stuck up for Martin both last season and the first games of this, he should be revered for getting us up last season, but I find myself now despising him for the way he stuck to his own agenda rather than adapting and utilising the players that he had to hand.
I think I despise him more than virtually any manager that has been at this club, off hand I can only think of Branfoot and Redknapp that I hate more, the rest might have failed, but they did so because either they didn't have a squad to work with or they just weren't up to it.

There’s a lot of talk about his legacy being promotion back to the premier league but he’s effectively consigned us to an immediate return to the championship, so he’s undone that.

I have many gripes with Russell Martin.
Another one which I am increasingly noticing is how unfit the squad are.
We are virtually running on empty in the last 15 minutes of games.
You can accept that other teams will have more skilful players, but there is no excuse for our teams being poorly-prepared and unfit.

We still don't have the players Nick. Even when RM was here, we had a penalty against Man U and we missed. We were excellent that day. We were excellent against Liverpool for the 3 -2. Should have won at Brighton but for a terrible VAR decision. There were some close games under him but before the sh!t hit the fan. Yesterday, was great to see so many chances and getting the ball forward, but we still didn't score!!! And we still made a mistake at the back that lost us the game!!!

Agreed.
I was a big fan and quite happy with the style of football in the Championship.
Pre-season he made it clear in interviews he wouldn't change his preferred tactics.
It made me nervous but I like many others were prepared to give it a go.

Whilst I cannot abide Redknapp of Branfoot, Martin surpasses them mainly for his arrogance, and smug demeanour (made worst by the Noddy’s thinking he was some sort of football messiah).
Don’t care what anyone says, this squad were fully capable of seeing the season out and not being relegated by Xmas. Were we gonna go down? Yes, let’s be honest, we ain’t quite good enough. Should the trigger have been pulled earlier? Without a shadow of doubt, and that’s all on our inept owner and the Board. Christ, with the team we had in the Championship we should have done better. Would Dragan have sacked him but for the fans finally turning? I doubt it.

Rasmus ‘embrace failure’ Ankersen also needs his backside booting out of our Club, he, not unlike Martin, is a self obsessed, deluded wannabe guru of football who thinks he knows better than everyone else but knows nothing.
In fact, the rest of SR don’t come out of their period of ownership with any credit whatsoever. They have taken an established PL club and turned it into the current laughing stock of the PL in a relatively short space of time. Just wish we could have owners fully invested in our club (like Brighton) and not distracted by some multi-club project that seems to be of no meaningful benefit to SFC if Lis is anything to go by, it just costs us more money every transfer window.
