Thanks Guys - Better than Derby and Portsmouth but that is coming from a very low bar. Varane made a huge difference in plugging the gaping hole we have seen in midfield and Saito showed what's been missing on the left side following a number of dreadful performances from the hapless Paal.
That along with JCS returning and hopefully Dunne returning to right back we may start to grind out a few points. However we are still toothless up top and despite getting into some good areas we never look like scoring. We need to improve our decision making in the final third. |  | | |

There must be more to Celar…surely?
Totally, completely, utterly ineffectual. I found myself feeling sorry for him- just out of his depth. He’s not impressed in any game so far- his positioning, his anticipation, his running on and off the ball ( well maybe once…) , his control. Did he have a shot at goal on Tuesday? No presence.. No aggression .Maybe if he did something that got him booked, I’d warm to him.
At least with Dykes, even when he wasn’t playing well, he was big and an asset when taking and defending corners. Celar hasn’t got the physical presence - well he isn’t that sort of player - the question is what sort of player is he?
We had quite a small team ( in height terms) , without Frey and Madsen noticeable when taking and defending corners .
There must have been something impressive about Celar for us to get him. Or was this faulty analysis by duff data driven software?
Good to see Anderson having a decent part-game. Saito showed he can perform for 90 minutes. Chair is nowhere near his for towards the end of last season.

Great work very enjoyable and informative we have great writers on LFW.
As usual we seem to completly push that self destruct button not touch it lightly when defending lately.How many times has Nardi blocked the first effort only for a QPR player fail to clear the fcuking ball out on to the road then its in our net a few seconds later .
Are we stuck in between playing the ball like Marti wants or just averting the danger by booting it to safety because kicking it straight to the opposition with everybody scrambling always goes to schit for us.
We need the fire drill brought back ,if its bouncing around in our box hammer it away and regroup again.Of course as usual we had a corner that turned into a breakaway and a goal against that is a regular occurance also.
We simply cannot outscore our mistakes this season the dark clouds are gathering I fear |  | | |

However, if that were Begovic in goal, there would have been thread(s) saying he should have saved the rather tame side-footed strike from Wright, which was on his weaker left foot. Being consistent, then Nardi is at fault too. I also worry that he's rooted to his line too much for my liking when we are defending corners and free-kicks and is not commanding enough.
Nardi's done reasonably well but he has his weaknesses. Cook should have reacted quicker too, as Wright's shot wasn't struck that hard. [Post edited 24 Oct 14:45]

No doubt some on here would have David Seamen be'twixt the sticks in their All Time XI. However, anytime the oppo looked like they might try their luck with a speculative punt from 25 yards out and beyond, the sight of a flapping Spunky had me clenching my buttocks in fear until danger was averted.
