He stops a lot of shots, and makes good saves, but he seems to always push the ball back in to the central area rather than out wide, as keepers are normally taught to do. if you push the ball wide towards the corner the need for a secondary save becomes less likely.
i think this is something that is a goalkeeping basic, and something easily coachable, but maybe i'm wrong. |  | | |  |

Nardi is making many great saves, the 4 in a row yesterday were brilliant. His distribution has been ok too. I agree he does seem to parry a number of shots back into dangerous areas, but better that than allowing them to go in our goal! He's been an adequate replacement for Begovic so far and in Walsh we have another good Keeper to give him competition. | | | |

Maybe I’m old-fashioned and it can’t happen or is coached not to happen but I want my goalkeeper clearing the six-yard box like Liam Neeson when required. My only criticism of him is a reluctance to come out and claim crosses.

Agreed. Nardi has arguably been our best summer signing and although still early doors, his stock is rising (as well as his highlight reel after that quadruple save).
We seem to have a decent crop of keepers right now. If things continue, i can see us cashing in on Nardi in a yr or so at time when Walsh will be pushing for more game time. A seamless transition. Keep the conveyer belt turning. |  | | |

If it's not a particular strength then I would rather be stayed at home and let the defence deal with it.
There was one incident yesterday where I was thinking he might come but he didn't and the ball ended up in his hands on the line.
Had he tried to come and not got it, it's another goal.
He's quick off his line to dive at attackers feet. I think he's an agile keeper rather than a strength one. | | | |

I like him and think it's good but thought the same yesterday, some shots should be pushed out wide. It's definitely something to work on, but overall a great signing.
It's like the defender who does an amazing last ditch tackle Vs the defender whose positioning was better but gets less credit for it. | |

Great stuff, he's just in the door, is our best player who's keeping us in games, and already people can't wait to sell him (and then moan when we slide down the table).
Could we perhaps speed things up even further, simply covet players at a distance, and fantasise about buying/selling them as we hit 16th again? |  |
