1. You get a singer, guitarist, bassist and drummer. 2. Don't be a bellend and pick a whole band that already exists. They have to be from separate bands. 3. Singer is based on their voice and not their ability to play bass/guitar etc. If you pick Geddy Lee for bass, he doesn't get to be singer. 4. They can be dead.
For me it's;
SINGER: Layne Staley (Alice in Chains) GUITAR: Geordie (Killing Joke) BASS: Jamie Stewart (The Cult) DRUMS: Budgie (Siouxsie and the Banshees)
Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. He runs like a cheetah, his crosses couldn't be sweeter. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore.

JON ANDERSON......YES.....singer RITCHIE BLACKMORE......DEEP PURPLE....bass JIMMY PAGE.....LED ZEPPELIN.....guitar COZY POWELL.....EVERYONE....drums.
That's one hell of an ensemble! If you had to have a keyboard player, who would you pick? Don Airey? Patrick Moraz? Jon Lord? Rick Wakeman? Vincent Crane? Keith Emerson?
"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

Which brings up another problem for people like me - I love music, it's my favourite art form, but I'm a really bad musician. Dreadful. I've tried. I can tell you who I enjoy, I can tell you who makes my ears swan, my eyes spark, my heart do the double bass drum-kick in 'Be my Baby', but I genuinely, genuinely have no idea who the best musicians are. As a non-musician, I'm just guessing.
same.....would love to play any instrument, were'nt bad on the triangle at school.

I'm a musician but none of my four are necessarily technically great. They're just the ones who make me feel their music the most.

Singer: Terry Reid Drums: Mitch Mitchell Base: Jack Bruce Guitar: Ollie Halsall Keyboards: Dave Sinclair
Didn't expect Terry Reid to get a mention in these venerable columns. I've got a Terry Reid vinyl album in my collection which I haven't played in years - Rich Kid Blues was a favourite. I'll plough into my collection and retrieve it in the morning. It'll take me a while, I've one of the biggest collections in the UK. Well, perhaps even in Hammersmith ! Thanks Steve.

Brilliant vidoe thanks for posting . Hard to believe Tom Petty and Prince gone they looked pretty healthy there . Of course drugs ( prescription and illegal ) took both hearts . Look at the expression on George Harrisons son its great.Prince never warned anyone he was going to go wild on guitar beforehand but fair play they kept pace RIP TP Prince and George Harrison .A lot more coming too sadly

Jeff is a staggering bass player who made, I think, two albums with jazz/rock band Bruford. Bill Bruford well known in rock circles. I've never heard a bassist like him - although another hero is the bloke in Back Door.

This is my supergroup. They shall be known as Dan and the Dannys.
Singer - Dan Auerbach Guitar - Danny Kirwin Bass - Danny Thompson Drums - Danny Goffey
Haha I love the idea of such a band
They could tour with the outfit I am putting together: Dan-Danny-Dan-Daniel:
Bass (and keyboards): Dan Reynolds of the wonderful stoner rock band King Buffalo
Guitar: Danny Beardsley, virtuoso guitarist in hard rock band The Parallax Method
Drums (and vocals, he is actually the lead singer in his band): Dan Beehler of Exciter, a pioneering speed metal band formed in 1978.
Lead vocals: Daniel Tompkins of prog metal band Tesseract. He has an incredible vocal range and not many can match his ability to handle both the loud and powerful and quieter, more melodic sections.
Beehler is not the best drummer technically but he is decent and deserves to be in there for his role in creating a new musical genre.

I'm glad he didn't though. He also turned down Deep Purple before they got Gillan.
A great Singer/songwriter. Seeds of Memory and River are the two albums I couldn't do without.
